John was my Grandfather and he was the man who raised me. So I don’t have the proper words for how grateful I am to Katie,Eric and everyone else who was involved with this wonderful project! I know that he would have loved that these wonderful pieces of art will now be available for many generations to come. So I just cannot put into words how much this means to me but I will always be grateful to everyone involved for making these beautiful works of music available for many many generations to come ❤ Love you PepPaw and I know that you have a smile on your face knowing that these songs will always be around 😊

John was an amazing individual, had a wonderful persona. I loved his music from the first time I heard it. I have a copy of the Aereoplane book, a Signature John Hartford 5 string banjo and would love to see a book of his banjo songs published. His fiddle playing was fantastic, sadly I have never been able to master the instrument. Good luck with the book, I’m sure it will be a huge success. RIP John, missed but never forgotten.

Awwwww. I feel such a sense of affinity with him. His daughter looks very much like him. I feel sad seeing his belongings and knowing he is gone. When I watch his videos it feels like he is still here with us
