Hi John, Not related to this video in particular but I am making my way through all of your content. I just wanted to drop a note to say that I really enjoy your videos and they have helped me, a big Beatles fan in my early 30's, to get into the post-band output the of the boys (especially Paul - I had already made foray's into John's solo stuff and I loved All Things Must Pass) so thanks a lot for that Top man, thanks

John said that Peter Brown was a later hanger-on and took 3 hour martini lunches. Note that he wrote it -- at attacks John -- AFTER John was dead so couldn't talk back.

I have spent so much money having watched your three book reviews! Thank you John (though I don't think my bank will)

I loved "A Twist of Lennon" and wish I'd kept hold of my copy, which I bought on publication. Cynthia came across as a very decent person caught up in extraordinary events. She even illustrated the book herself too which was a bonus.

No ranking of Cynthia's book "John"? It's considerably better then "Twist Of Lennon".

The first Beatles book that I read was The Man who gave the Beatles Away, by Alan Williams. Loved this book

John, Great video! I also, often return to the May Pang memoir. I agree 100% on your perspective on the Fred Seaman book - lotsa good bits. Chris ODell is like the Forrest Gump of the music world - she seems to have been present for so many historical music moments - Really liked her book. Just got a copy of Waiting For The Beatles for Christmas and can't wait to dive in. I felt bad because I think my Folks spent about $80.00 American dollars for it (for a used copy as it is OOP) but they say I'm worth it! I'd be the 2nd male Apple Scruff there with you - Ha ha! . - Take care, Bob

Isn't Seaman the one who stole Lennon's diary and unpublished novel "Skywriting By Word of Mouth"?

Hi John. I really enjoyed your book roundup. Are you aware of my book on Let It Be, part of the 33 1/3 series from Bloomsbury? Steve Matteo

No "Apple to the Core"?

My thoughts exactly on the Frederic Seaman book, I thought that his portrayal of John was very believable, Yoko, less so, but fascinating overall...have you read Geoff Emericks's Beatle's memoir "Here There and Everywhere"? - I found it to be very insightful, although a bit (admittedly ) pro-Paul, but very interesting and valuable nonetheless ...Have not read Cynthia's or Patti's, or the Apple Scruff book, I will be on the lookout for those,...enjoyed the video.

Oh John, you must get hold of a copy, even John Lennon on the back cover tells of how the book brought back so many good memories of their early days in Liverpool and Hamburg and beyond, The last part of the book tells of when Williams came to the Apple studios with the dusty old Taped of the Star Club recordings and met with George and Ringo to try to sell them. They didn't want them But for old times sake George handed over some small precious stones to Alan just for old times sake. Check it out I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it. Rest of your book reviews as always very enjoyable.

my favorite book if the one that Hunter Davies wrote, but I also like the one entitled Lennon Remembers , it is a very hard book to find, I am glad that I have it, I wish that someone that had known them in Hamburg Germany would have written one

+mark williams Yes indeed. i think Mark Lewisohn does a pretty good job on that period, Tune In (Volume 1)...although he wasn't there, I trust his sources more than anyone else...
