Probably not your thing but T.rex Electric warrior album and cover has always been iconic to me. Maybe as it was the first album I bought with my own money in 1971...

David With keeps asking John if The Beatles are breaking up and John replies "no". This is right after John told the other Beatles in September 1969 that he wanted to leave The Beatles

Just got that 12” and love it. Cool mix with lots Keith slashing. Almost a jam feel? I also was luke warm but putting it on a few weeks ago, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hard to beat that 70’s run. Don’t forget Black and Blue…one of my favorites. Sound quality is stellar.

Hi John. Good choices. The one with the writing all over the back is Go2 by XTC.

An acquaintance of mine - not yet a LZ fan - was on a camping trip when his party got rained out. Bored, he found the Outdoors album among the collection of LP's at the cottage they were renting......and that was it! He developed a fanatical love for this album so much so that I'd say it was definitely one of his favorite albums of all time. He was always praising it.

I grew up in Sweden, so I obviously bought the original Swedish pressing of "ABBA The Album". The cover is slightly different from the British issue, since the background of the drawing is completely white, with no blue sky. It isn't a gatefold either, so the lyrics are printed on the inner sleeve and there is no photo on the backside of the cover that also has a completely white background.

Yes I noticed the differences in later years but the blue one is what I grew up with!

I bought the album back then too. But I just found it dreadfully boring. With one exception: "You". After that, I didn't buy any more Harrison albums. Until 1987, when Jeff Lynne entered the scene and produced with Harrison the wonderful album "Cloud Nine". He succeeded in implanting a certain lightness and looseness into Harrison's music, which was immediately transferred to the listener.

Fun video, that Led Zep (6 covers) was brilliant. I have taken decades to find all 6 covers A thru F. I even have an F with the original paper bag cover. Only one had someone brush water on the inner sleeve to reveal the water colours. I could use a better copy of my B, it’s a bit worn. 😊

Nice list John. My picks would be more for their humor. The Temptations "Wish It Would Rain" ; The Who's "The Who By Numbers" ; MAMA and the PAPA'S "If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears"; Pretty Things' "Silk Torpedo"; and Manfred Mann's Earth Band's "The Roaring Silence".

John, have you ever done a video that evaluates which solo Beatle songs would actually have made the cut on a Beatles album? I suspect that many solo songs would not have been accepted by John, Paul and George.

The Hipgnosis documentary is called Squaring The Circle. Going back to the 70s I loved illustrated covers such as Capt Fantastic or Procol Harum live with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra - things you could study and still find something new each time you looked at it. Or photographic ones which made you wonder how they had done it eg. Peter Gabriel 2 or 3 (known as ‘Scratch’ and ‘Melt’). Pre-Photoshop or desktop publishing days, of course.

I got Wild Life, Beaucoups of Blues, and Cloud Nine on essentially the same weekend and I fully expected not to like Wild Life. Wild Life ended up getting played the most of the 3. Strange how that works. And speaking of strange, I didn't know Love is Strange was a cover, but I totally recognized it when I played it.

Not a good album..3/10 Silly Love Songs is a masterpiece.. Even let em in annoys me..it’s like hello goodbye in lyrics.. don’t want wings band democracy…this band is about ONE man..anyone who says otherwise…are they buying Denny’s solo? Jimmys solo? Absolutely not! I love the fact silly love songs Paul is stating true to himself..perhaps a reference to John calling him Englebert..oh how John wishes he could write a song that good at this time!! Cheers John

Thank you for the Walls And Bridges review, John! I caught your very, very brief remark about The Wombles! 🙂 Even though, as a USA person, I never saw that TV show, I learned about (and heard) a few Wombles records via WNEW-FM (NYC) DJ Scott Muni's (every) Friday afternoon 2-hour segment, "Things From England", where he highlighted the (then-) current hit singles and albums. It was amazing how different the USA and British charts were! From Scott, I learned about The Wombles and Showaddywaddy -- at this time 50 years ago, their respective singles "Banana Rock" and "Hey Rock And Roll", were big hits -- plus the band Sparks, of which I am still a big fan of.

P.S. I believe that the first Wombles song I heard was, "Remember You're A Womble" !!!!
