We had such a good run yesterday only to be stopped today!! The mist came in and made harvest impossible today!! However we did get those few wet day jobs done so there is a silver lining.

Very true statement “there’s not much to do at harvest when you can’t harvest.” Even though there’s always things to do, you’ve just got harvest brain and it’s hard to focus on much else

Those lift axles on that truck are a bloody great idea. Awesome vid JH. I used to blow my chopper off every single night so I could go and wash off the itch at night. Also I could pick up any issues before the next morning. Thanks for your time and effort sharing.

Yer definitely a good idea for the trucks! Saves on tyres and helps when turning empty! Thanks for the support!

Awesome video again. Typical harvest weather soon you’ll have to stop due to fire ban. I had to go back and watch those axles on the semi I didn’t notice them the first time through, it would be interesting to know how they work, maybe you could interview Brian for us and he can explain his set up.

Ha "The internet rejoices..." said with the perfect amount of spite. That has to be the most dogshit job on the farm blowing of combines. Especially sorghum dust. We just use a husqvarna 2stroke leaf blower

YES , you're totally correct, ....... thats typical of harvest conditions often ........ I love that "slide/ cradle " for your ENGEL car fridge ......is it a Engel accessory ? I have had a car fridge the same for years ,great thing , and can handle rough roads and farming conditions !

Did that triple truck unload the field bin completely? Never see those trucks in NZ. How many tonnes are their loads? Great videos, thank you.
@tomsbrookfarm
@tomsbrookfarm 9 ай бұрын
The truck can take 78tonnes, so depending on how full we fill the field bin he will or will not drain the bin

what do you do if it is to wet?

So what do you do if you get a heavy rain with all the grain in open top bins. Do you have a way of covering the grain?
@tomsbrookfarm
@tomsbrookfarm 9 ай бұрын
We just leave the grain in the bins, the rain will not effect the moisture. What we do if we get a massive downpour though is we will move the grain and put it in another bin as if we leave it for to long then some grain will spoil. But if we move it around it’s normally fine

Do you have much on farm storage? Or do you truck most to town?
@tomsbrookfarm
@tomsbrookfarm 9 ай бұрын
We only have enough storage on farm for our seed for the next year. We truck it all to our local CBH in cascade or CBH in Esperance

How hard do you push generally what hours do you do?
@tomsbrookfarm
@tomsbrookfarm 9 ай бұрын
On a typical harvest day we will go from 7am to 9-9:30pm. If we go any later doing those hours everyday will cause burn out and fatigue so we don't do cray hours to keep everyone "fresh"
