I saw Grand Funk Railroad live in concert at Wild Adventures in Lowndes County, Georgia in August 2022. They were high energy through and through, but it was just Don Brewer and Mel Schacter plus three other musicians. Mark Farner wasn’t in the lineup, though. Mel, Don, and Mark need to mend fences, break bread, bury the hatchet, and stage a reunion tour. It would be one for the ages.

After playing the drums for nearly 50 years in two different bands and playing in night clubs around Ocean City MD as well as Washington DC ard opening up for a few well known rock bands in the late 70s throughout the early 90s I met lots of drummers. I never got to see them but I came close. I saw Bob Seger at the old Spectrum in Philly in the early 80s, and guess who was playing the drums for him...complete with his legendary red sparkle kit, white shirt with bloused sleeves, and Afro? Yep - Don Brewer. He didn't do any vocals, but did an excellent job driving Bob's band.

Saw them around this time in Charlotte on their Bosnia tour about the last time Mark, Don and Mel played together. When I play this at home my neighbors listen to it as well!

When I was a kid listening to this song, I always though the guitar player sang this song only to realize it was Don Brewer, the drummer. He just has that full bodied masculine sounding voice on this song!!!! I just love his singing
