Johns energy is contagious❤. I have learned nature is strong and so am I. We don’t have to be so careful planting. My husband was concerned when I asked for a pitch fork😂 😂😂

I am guilty of being one of those elephants going in to read the labels. Although I do try to be mindful of where I step. Even without a label there are apps to help identify the plant. I wish that a list of all the plants in a garden were available everywhere I go, then I wouldn't do that. Especially if the list had pictures so that I didn't have to lookup every plant to find the one that I spotted. I am really looking forward to seeing this garden when everything comes in.

I find that if I photograph unknown plants at a botanical garden I can find a gardener eventually who is happy to tell me all about it.

Grew up with an oak leaf hydrangea in the Pacific Northwest, climate similar to Ireland. Beautiful, graceful plant. We used to let the flowers dry and have them all year inside.

Great video. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge, I’ve been moving things around to get the contrasting foliage , colours and shapes. And- the geraniums I picked up from your videos have sprung up!!! I’m delighted!!! I might actually be able to grow plants with your help🌱

I think you are really going to like that oak leaf hydrangea! I live in the southeastern United States and we have to plant ours where they get good afternoon shade (it's so hot here in summer). The panicles are long lasting, I love the peeling bark on the branches, and the autumn color is sensational. Don't prune it unless absolutely necessary, it blooms on old growth, mine is about 16 feet tall (it's 25 years old) and I love it! Cheers from North Carolina USA

One of my favorite trees in my yard is the Bald Cypress .. looks evergreen in summer providing shade and in winter loses all of its greenery ... tolerated wet and dry conditions. Like I said one of my favorite trees.

Oak leafs hydrangeas are an amazing 4 season plant. The flowers, amazing fall color, then when they get older they get peely papery bark. What variety its it? cause the regular native ones given time can become a small 15 by 15ft tree. Then theres ones like little honey or munchkin that only get 3 by 3ft

I subscribed and have loved watching your videos. But I am sorry, I can't accept gardening with peat. That just goes against my beliefs about what gardening is about. Certainly not about ruining the environment long term to just make your immediate environment nicer for the short term. Sorry unsubscribed.
