The capabilities of the UAPs alone, without even mentioning potential occupants piloting the craft or remotely controlling them, are technologically beyond the capabilities that any government or private company possesses by MANY orders of magnitude, and these craft certainly aren’t a phenomenon of the new millennia. They have been seen for over a century, well before man ever took first flight, and there are plenty of vague mentions of similar things going back millennia by civilizations from every corner of the globe. The inane resistance to understanding what is plain as day by the skeptics is just another symptom of human egotism getting in the way of doing proper observational and historical science…

@chaz0000063 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Yes, our observations are a narrow slice, but they represent all of the time UP UNTIL NOW that alien civilizations may have had to develop and expand. We've seen different spectrums of light from billions of light years away and are able to detect exo-planets 13,000 light years away. Theoretically there should be thousands if not hundreds of thousands of advanced civilizations out there, some millions of years old, as John mentioned. But nothing's been verified - the silence is deafening.

But do keep in mind that the only extraterrestrial life that would have had the time to respond to our signals would be 40 light years away: as our first signals were sent 80 years ago, they would take forty years to reach the star system in question and then return a signal. So far, our neighborhood seems empty, but considering the very low occurrence of habitable worlds, and especially ones that were created biotically, it makes sense. Anything farther out would not know that we’re here, and even then only a few select planets would be able to detect our own planet transiting the sun!

They are hanging out around nuclear technology aka. Plants, warships and nuclear bomb facilities. They also have fucked around with the weapons such as turned them on and off at will in multiple countries. There are three possibilities: some country or countries have come up with this technology and hidden it or they are extraterestrial/interdimentional or they could even be another species from this planet hidden in the oceans. Ancient writings from thousands of years ago have written about flying machines capable of traveling in water, air and space. My personal belief: they are here and they have always been here.
@Charles-xe2qh3 жыл бұрын
Very interesting! And somewhat unsettling! Regarding the UAPs I find it hard to believe that they are of alien origin. It's very hard to imagine any plausible reason why an alien civilisation advanced enough to fly probes in our atmosphere would bother doing so in the way these UAPs are doing. Why would they bother tantalising us like that, with these fleeting visits? They could easily sit secretly somewhere and monitor all our communications and within days they would know everything there was to know about humans and the Earth. The only possible reason that I can think of why they would want to partially reveal themselves to us in the manner of these UAPs is to slowly "break us in" to the idea of their existence. But that seems awfully considerate. Isn't it more likely that they would either keep themselves concealed or else reveal themselves in full?
@bradleypoe68463 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to bother you with this, as I just got to your comment tonight, August 4th, late into the morning of the 5th, 2021. But in general I'd think any alien species that's watched us for any length of time would know we have some . . . strange Uncanny Valley issues. It's not just that many of us panic or freak out at anything somewhat, but not entirely "not us", it's that we use that hair-trigger-ness to half-justify a lot of our worst implicit bias issues (of your sexist, racist and chauvinist/culture bigot sort). I would think a "reveal in full" would be off the table entirely for that reason, that only a _tiny_ minority of us on Earth wouldn't have some sort of panic over genuinely alien exo-people. Whether that panic was natural and sincere or otherwise. So why would they be considerate? Well, they're able to get here. Odds are we _aren't_ able to do much of anything, outside of hurting their feelings, to them. So this may be about keeping us from killing ourselves trying to hurt them. Consider: even if they aren't gods on Earth, but merely "supermen" relative to us, still, which do you think they'd do to keep us from flailing (suicidally) against them? Would they dress in silly, "underwear-on-the-outside" outfits if it calmed our nerves? Or would they decline to insult our intellect and simply show up in the most intimidating appearance possible? I know, bleak and nerdy of me to say. But I hope this helped at least a little.

This system has a single very interesting thing for alien civilizations to, at least, keep an eye on: the Earth's capability of creating an AI agent that could in a couple of hundred years be sent out to self-replicate around the galaxy (if we survive as a species to that point, of course). Aliens might not care about our resources, our life, our culture. But they will for sure care about the possibility of the creation of a synthetic organism that will represent some kind of danger for them in the future. And a self-replicating, probably self-improving, alien AI galactic swarm that might at some point surpass any other intelligence levels, is for sure something that any developed civilization out there would be wary of. I would even venture to state that the level of threat of a "singularity event" may not only be a critical point for life on earth, where it is greedily being sought without having the right protective mechanisms set in place, but for life on other planets as well. The situation might resemble a grumpy 6yo kid with ADHD, playing with a nuclear bomb detonator, in the middle of Tokyo. If our communication stream to space leads other civilizations to believe we are close to reach this level, they will have only a couple of options: 1) Positive Scenario: Help us to navigate the change without risking an out of control SAI agent, seeking benefit for everyone. 2) Negative Scenario: Actively disrupt the intents of reaching such technological state to develop said agent. 3) The Worst Scenario: Preventively destroy our capacity to develop said agent and/or the species as a whole.

Nothing can reproduce anything without errors. Eventually those errors pile up and over time those results will be of no resemblance to the original. Imagine an alien handing over a backup to the library of Alexandria. Imagine an alien showing you your family tree so detailed that every individual has at least a short bio all the way back to before your family was even human. Imagine a quick trip to an alien doctor that leaves you more robust than a fictional immortal from the Highlander movies. It's enjoyable to imagine such things.

A lot of hate on that Avi Loeb interview comment section for pushing a book/ asking honest questions/ proposing solutions. Its like he says though, if you see something you dont understand, you investigate. Thats science! Its cool seeing astrophysicists with open minds.
@iraniansuperhacker43823 жыл бұрын
I cant fathom why he is being attacked the way he is. He has never suggested he discovered aliens or that this is proof of aliens, he only suggested a possibility and the entire scientific community jumped on his back. Other academics were getting on youtube literally talking about how :pissed off" they were and that Avi is making a joke out of their career.. They were acting exactly like a religious sect whos belief system is being attacked. I dont understand why like 95% of people on both sides of the alien debate are unable to separate how they believe the world works with what is actually happening. String theory with its zero evidence and zero ability to actually test its validity? Yeah that is fine. Aliens that might be at a star relatively close to us and launch a probe here? Pseudoscience.

@@iraniansuperhacker4382 Criticism isn't an attack. I'm not that keen on Avi Loeb but I think investigation into these phenomena is very important as much as I doubt ETI is involved that cannot be ruled out without good data and solid research and it shouldn't be dismissed off handedly as it is possible.

Watch this project get shut down hard. Once I heard that the project will look towards millitary and rural areas I instantly thought this'll be destroyed and shut down.
@williamblack40062 жыл бұрын
Well, one year after your comment the project is going forward with the station in operation and collecting data and numerous well known scientists on staff. Not shut down. Not destroyed. So much for your conspiracy theories.

One of the BEST summations of Where are the Aliens I've see on KZbin.
@DaveTexas3 жыл бұрын
30 years ago, I dated a guy who eventually told me he was regularly abducted by aliens. (That revelation pretty much ended the relationship, BTW.) he told me a lot about the "research" he and other "abductees" had collected. The main thing was that these aliens were not interstellar travelers, but rather interdimensional travelers. They came from the same physical space as us, just from dimensions we couldn’t see or interact with. It made zero sense and these people couldn’t back up anything they said, but it was at least a way of dealing with the vast distances of interstellar space. He also claimed that certain people had genetic markers inserted into their DNA many hundreds or thousands of generations ago, and that the descendants of those people were the ones being abducted and studied. In other words, you were born to be abducted, and your offspring would continue that trend. Of course, this guy also told me he had been diagnosed with lymphoma and that he was treating it with a paste made up of certain plants. The paste was rubbed on the skin over the tumors, and the tumors were "drawn out" through the skin. He was refusing to seek actual medical treatment. This was more horrifying to me than the whole alien-abduction thing. My guess is that he didn’t end up living very long. Or maybe the aliens cured him so they could keep probing him. I got far away from him as quickly as I could.

We will probably not find any artifacts or alien satellites lurking in our solar systems and definitely no Alien Ufos roaming around in our atmosphere or siting frozen in polar ice. Resources will be spend on this, which could definitely be spent in more fruitfull endeavours, but at least it will be settled and if we find something it would be worth it. The same applies to the more traditional SETI methods, which are more effective, but seamingly not as popular as this. Please acknowledge me and my rational opinion.

Do you think it's possible that if aliens exist they developed under something different from darwinian evolution?
@olbluelips3 жыл бұрын
I think it's possible, but certainly hard to imagine. Especially if you start thinking really generally about evolution being in a sense, the propagation of stable configurations in a system. That probably doesn't qualify as Darwinian evolution at that point idk
