I would personally like to thank John Michael Talbot for being such a willing vessel of love and light and truth for Jesus.. it shines like the King Himself! When I was in high school and very sick, my parents would play his music and it helped me sleep at night because of the calming spirit of it and the reassurance of the scriptural truth in it..

I was introduced to JMT over thirty years ago when a Jewish fellow with a love affair with St. Francis led a group of Americans to Assisi. That was Christmas, 1986, where we met a group of Europeans for a week long celebration of spirit. It snowed on Christmas Eve after we'd left the service at San Damiano. Amazingly, there was a rose blooming in the courtyard. We awoke to a foot of snow on the ground. I searched on KZbin while listening to John Michal Talbot as I've begun doing on Sunday mornings. Though I consider myself more a Buddhist than a Christian, the message he shares is part of my youth and still speaks to me... especially in the sweet form of his music. Such fond memories. Thank you John Michael and thank you Bruce.

your music is incredible, been listening for 18 yrs now, and the songs are still fresh and biblicly relevant as they were when i first became a fan yrs ago. keep fulfilling gods call on your life. it brings joy to those who see. and to the father. as for some of the comments: we are looking at the universe through a peep hole, thinking we have everything fiq'd out. we destroy our bodies with addictions and gross sin and tell the creator he is all wrong. or dont exist. shame is soon to come.

As teaching volunteers in 1981 at Tabwiroa Jr. College (boarding school) on the primitive coral atoll in Abaiang, Kiribati, my wife & I became acquainted with JMT through borrowed cassette tapes from Sr. Eileen Kennedy, the OLSH provincial on the island of Tarawa in the central Pacific. I would pick these tunes on guitar verbatim with utmost perseverance from the time the babies were asleep until the math/science books arrived at 10pm for 2hrs. of corrections via Coleman pressure lamps. We've followed and played JMT music while teaching in Maine, Seoul, and Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia (1990 Gulf War). Later in 1997, we saw JMT live at St. Thomas Moore Church in Denver when halfway through the concert it was shockingly announced that Rich Mullins has died in a car crash. JMT stopped and prayed for the troubadour and dear friend. Tony Melendez also performed along-side JMT on guitar using both feet since he was born with no arms. JMT music, like vintage wine, resonates within our hearts after 41 years of marriage and a miriad of worldly adventures serving Christian students in various nations. Each songs represents tender memories of people, places and circumstances from various locations. What can I say except, "Glory to God in the highest"! Thanks you, Michael, for your music that has encouraged us throughout our lifelong, earthly pilgrimage.

It's an important message from God Himself, but it's difficult to keep in mind when even my 4 family's try constantly to hinder me, and my life has been like St Paul, and Alex Scholzenechen. In America where " freedom of Religion " is preached but with little substance. By God's words are true. Always.

Giving to the Poor and Prayer 6 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. 5 “When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. 7 “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. 8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. 9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread. 12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. 14 For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions. Fasting; The True Treasure; Wealth (Mammon) 16 “Whenever you fast, do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they neglect their appearance so that they will be noticed by men when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face 18 so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. The Cure for Anxiety 25 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I took particular notice of point #7 endless repetitions - just sitting there endlessly chanting "Hare Krishna" or "Namyo ho renge kyo" "Allah hu Akbar" or even "Oh, Lord Jesus" and the so-called jabbering in "tongues" is just mind-numbing, meaningles gibberish. God can see through all that. Worship God in spirit and truth. Talk to God like a friend

@gsmtechrw Great! You've taken the first step. Over the coming months and years, what you have heard will cause you to reflect on your faith and may, if you are objective enough, help you to come to see that there probably is no god, and help you to realise that you should stop worrying about it and get on with your life.

Wow, your understanding of Religion/Christianity is incredibly flawed... other than teaching, spreading the Gospels, providing help to those who need it, standing up against injustice (wow, Jesus did all that!!), the Catholic Church also enbraces Science - not in a “religious” way or form of belief, but as a way of understanding the world that we live in to help humanity, as well as act as a clear way of discrediting those who justify sin/unethical practices in the name of (pseudo) science, much in the same way that people abuse religion and the Name of God to justify sinful acts (including bearing false witness agains us Catholics and other Christian denominations as you do to “raise yourself” To conclude, consider this, in the end YOU shall be judged by God as you have judged others. God Bless, and go in peace.
