Hi John, Congratulation for your job, I learn from you. I'd like to know, what is your mix control that we see at 17 seconds in this video? Thank you 🙏 Sorry for my english,i'm from belgium 😊

Yes Sir Mr John Mike I understand the template, but what are the connections? Is everything connected to a hub and then connected to your Roland and computer? That's my question l have no idea thanks

So when you do this it is not possible to use the actually board individualy? Sow like I’m playing on the midi a Nord sound and on the Nord itself I play another sound.
@Johnmike2 ай бұрын
Depending on the board you can do both…on the Nord I can assign a sound to my midi controller by putting it on a different midi channel and play different sounds on both…

I put everything through a mixer first then just one stereo out into daw. This way ableton surface controller channel strips control play stop record loops all from a dedicated surface controller then i am mouse free hands free to play. Other way is mouse crazy albeit probably cleanest audio and free from vintage synth artefact cross bleed on mixer. Guess this is why people use ableton instead of logic
@Johnmike3 ай бұрын
Yea if I only had a 2 channel interface I would…but I got a 32 channel mixer/interface…that would be a waste…plus with using the track stacks I can keep everything I recorded from a specific board organized(as shown in the video) plus I could accomplish the same thing from my studio live if I put it in control surface mode…then I wouldn’t have to use the mouse either
@wilkopiano3 ай бұрын
@@Johnmike thought your 32 channels are for studio sessions with other musician instrument inputs though right? I use 18 channels on my mixer just for keyboard wall. Doesn’t leave many inputs left for drums singers guitars if you are separating every single channel for each keyboard. My interface is 16 channel. Use 2 for keys leaving 14 for room musicians. Can your surface controller sit right next to your keyboards though? Or do you employ someone to track and operate the daw whilst you play. I play and operate computer at same time. Guess i am thinking more performance based setup. Like youngr. Rather than pause between tracks and record one at a time.
@Johnmike3 ай бұрын
@@wilkopiano I also have a presonus 16r in my live room where my drums and organ and mics and all that are…it’s networked as a stagebox so I have 48 channels all together…more than enough to do everything I need to do from performance to just general everyday production

@@wilkopiano and I control everything from the studio live while doing sessions…for the times that I need to record something myself I have a few remote apps that let me walk into the live room and control the daw from there

I think 1. Doing this in studio one would be kool. 2. Only buying pieces that has software control makes this setup make sense. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJTOl2lqlrdmjNksi=dYfIT3EcuTo7WhPM
