Great video. That lens looks fun. I agree, 29f is cold. I really like the heron pictures. The landscape images you got the canyon were cool as well.

Cold says the man who lives way farther north .... in the snow...... up hill both ways!! It just stays in the canyon shadows for a long time but it did warm up eventually. Fun lens and set up. I should have shot it at the beach yesterday but I had a regular video lens. Looking forward to some sunrise shots with it and even some landscapes - fun to shoot. 🙏🤗💖

Jonny, this looks great. Sadly you have to manual focus, but that scene with James in the river and all the flares and atmospheric conditions looks really good. Glad you guys went to Malibu Creek early. Nice photos............ and I love those anamorphic shoots.

Thank you, thank you. It gave me the look I wanted and just something different. I will get better with the placement for the manual focus as time goes by. Just too much fun!!! 🙏🤗💖

Top DRAWER ... You're the only one i've seen use that type of lense

Thank you thank you. Just something different. Most will use a GoPro or the Osmo and it is easier..... but I really like to overdo it. All in good fun. 🙏🤗💖

Hi Jonny - Really liked the anamorphic video - seemed to work really well on the R50. As I have mentioned before you should try the RF 100 - 400 with the 1.4 Extender this gives you more flexibility than the RF 600 or RF 800 and both can be bought for a similar price. Aperture with extender still F11.

Anamorphic - I really had fun with it and will more so as time goes by. And that is a great set up. I have the 100-500 that gives my 800mm equivalent on the R7 and 700mm at F10 when I use a 1.4 and put it on the R3. Because I already have that and HAD the EF version one of the 100-400, I only rented the RF one and it is an AWESOME lens. And as far as 800mm (my favorite focal length, I prefer the 800 F11 to the 200-800 on a full frame body. No matter what you are shooting, go out and have fun. The 100-400 is a fantastic lens no matter what body you put it on. 🙏🤗💖

Great video. Just an fyi, Kanan and PCH are now open. We went to the Lagoon this morning and all is good there.

Went down Kanan this morning as well to shoot at the Lagoon. Looking at those photos now. Malibu Canyon was still closed just before the park and right after Mulholland. Still a fun drive through the canyons. Was shooting a rented R10 and it was a blast!! Devastating though to see the hills all black and even all the way up to PCH in some spots. 🙏🤗💖

An anamorphic lens is a specialized lens that compresses the horizontal field of view to create a wider aspect ratio, often used in filmmaking to achieve a cinematic look. Here are some things to know about anamorphic lenses: How they work Anamorphic lenses optically distort the width of an image, which is called squeezing. The image is then stretched back out in post-production, a process called desqueezing. History Anamorphic lenses were originally used to show a wider scene with a shallow depth of field. The word "anamorphic" comes from the Greek word anamorphosis, which means "form anew". Look Anamorphic lenses create a unique look that's different from spherical lenses, which capture a more circular image. Anamorphic lenses can create an oval bokeh effect, while spherical lenses create a ball-like bokeh. Uses Anamorphic lenses are commonly used in filmmaking, but can also be used in photography. Other effects Anamorphic lenses can also create a more exaggerated, artistic frame.

Thank you for all that info - I did do a lot or research before purchasing. It is so much more than most will ever do for KZbin but i just wanted to have fun with it!!! 🙏🤗💖 PS - Surui makes inexpensive lenses and they were so cheap, I just bought them instead of renting. All in good fun and way better than a blue streak filter.
