Never would have thought of a technique like this. Immensely helpful and informative as always!

thanks Danny! others have pointed out that a distance reference tic along the line would have been useful too. i hadn't thought of it. but this way you can know how far away a mountain or town is from the trail. :)

If I have an existing grid how would I only see the "intersects"?

you can add it from the droplist of grid elements. then delete the other elements

John - if I wanted these grids to display on ArcGIS online, would either techniques work?
@JohnNelsonMaps2 жыл бұрын
In this case I’d use tessellation and upload to ArcGIS Online

What programme did you use for for making the cardboard part of the map? Also, as always, a great video! I much prefer the dots compared to a scalebar sitting somewhere in the corner.

i used an old program called Adobe Fireworks, because i'm used to it. but you could use any design software you like.

Why tessellate? Surely fishnet would be better as you have more control (measurement), you can use the polygon points or the label option points.
@JohnNelsonMaps2 жыл бұрын
good idea, fishnet is another great option!
@koal05162 жыл бұрын
@@JohnNelsonMaps I would like to try the Triangle tessellate, using the centre point symbol should make it look like the rows are offset, would need to play with to ensure equal distance.
