Mathilde did not want to come to me anymore. Not for a few days. They were still in the meadow with their mothers and suddenly I could no longer pet her. I had no idea why ?? But now we have become friends again! I love it!
Johnny is babysitting the fillies. He keeps them company. Eefje is inside because I trained her. Johnny and Eefje are not friends ... This is one reason that the stallions and mares are not together.

Johnny didn't like Eefje saying no to his offer of a date. The fillies are all coming into their own personalities and are so cute. I love Mathilda. I remember when she was just a week or two old, she was walking out with her mom and stopped to say hello to every horse in the stable. What a delight. Those long legs and running like her tail was on fire. What a beautiful baby girl.

Johnny is a mover and so handsome tossing that forelock off his head and demanding Eefje look at him, and you can see that gorgeous neck muscle rippling when Yvonne does the slo-mo. He's also very independent. She kicked her foreleg at the stall wall, telling him to back off, and it didn't deter him at all. Too funny, these animal behaviors!

But I know stallions are not monogamous, except Goliath, the 17hh mustang now in the Sky Sanctuary in Oregon; he is with his fav mare, Red Lady, and their foal, rescued by the woman who owns Sky Sanctuary. These little horses are like little children at what age they are like human children? I say maybe 5 years old? What do you think? Does these little horses testing you Yvonne, like biting? I believe biting is like nibbles or they are finding out just how far the things they do go far. I have been watching a show called Heartland on cable Netflix in USA. It's a western show where they have ranchers and horses and other things in this show called Heartland. My cousins are from Montana and some are ranchers. Horses, cows, ducks, chickens. Horses are intelligent. But I don't know how to ride a horse, alone a car. I guess I have some of the Western style days in me since my father once lived on a ranch when he was younger, but later in life, moved to several cities where I was born and raised. I have watch you, Yvonne for a long time on other videos and you have this calmness and patient around horses. It always interests me to watch the horses' behavior in finding out what it means. I'm glad you posted what you say what is going on and it is always a pleasure to share with us of what is going on. Thanks and stay safe.

Yvonne they all literally know you from the day they are born. Even though they are adorable and want to cuddle you have to be so careful when they surround you. They may not intend to hurt you but they could easily do so because they don’t realize the power of their size and possibly view you as just another important member of the herd to play with. You are definitely at home with them all even among a herd of 10 or more out in the open field. It must take years of being around horses to develop that instinct to know when you are in danger or not. Even though I love these beautiful animals I would be like the young man you had a few months ago holding the camera for you who was afraid when all the horses approached and tried to surround him. I would be crying out your name to come save me 😂

That front kick is dangerous if you ever get in the firing line by mistake! We always called it a 'strike'. Ouch! But it is the horse behaviour so necessary to set the pecking order. Even the squeals. They're communication is so neat.

With the other horses as guides, this is an amazing way to develop a bond with them.......we’ve actually had to use a similar way of getting one of our dogs to come up to us instead of running away from us. I know Johnny has no idea that he is shorter than the ladies, but in reality, could he be a problem with a mare in heat or would it just be a case of dangerous behavior while trying? He is absolutely magnificent ! So perfect. Does he have any offspring out there of his breed that are carrying on his line ? I could watch him all day !

dobybeau Yes it would be dangerous to try & put him with the mares he would always try & establish dominance with them which is normal it’s just what stallions do but it would possibly lead to him getting kicked & that would not be good. In answer to the 2nd question yes Johnny has sired offspring as Rein does loan him out to other farms in the area however they are privately owned mares/foals and it’s likely we won’t see them here the interactions are facilitated between Rein & the other owners,who may not want to be on KZbin.
