@@sydwhitaker5776 Nope. But people believe it was Elvis because directors of "Walk the Line" film just wrote that into the script. It was fiddle player Gordon Terry that gave Johnny his first introduction to amphetamines in 1957. Many of Johnny biographers have documented this.

elvicare35 he sure did! He would pull pranks on his band members literally *all the time!* One almost got someone killed though. Elvis once told JD Sumner and his Stamps that there was a disgruntled husband or boyfriend that didn’t like how his woman acted because of Elvis and was going to do him in (this is entirely far fetched since not a whole buncha dudes liked the Elvis, the OG Mr. Steal Ya Girl and had empty threats about it before.) Elvis asked them while they were performing to keep on eye on the crowd and look for anything suspicious. JD and the Stamps all took it seriously and the show went perfectly. Afterwards, Elvis and the Stamps were in his room and two of Elvis’s bodyguards came in with masks and started shooting pistol blanks at Elvis. Everyone jumped behind the furniture and J.D. took Elvis to the ground and shielded him with his own body and thought Elvis was trembling because he was so scared but realized he was laughing. It was a hilarious prank but they didn’t know one of them had a loaded pistol on the counter just a few feet away and it could’ve gone a bit different. But Elvis would do just about anything for a good prank and a great laugh.

Sumner & The Stamps and when they sang for Elvis and also when he left to join the Oak Ridge Boys. Lots of great history about bass singing, Elvis and of course, the Oaks.

I grew up listening to Both singers. They were both good and did impersonations of each other. Both were addicts. Both lived hard, but one learned to beat his demons. The other died from his. They both used their talent for good and evil. We are not their judges. GOD is. All the fussing and cussing done is useless. It only wastes your time to get to know who GOD is and what YOUR purpose in life is. I enjoyed both singers as an unchristian and as a christian. I see the difference one made on the other. Only you can choose whether to stay in this disfunction or to be as JESUS. I can only tell you that My life has not been the same. I still have the same problems, but the peace I have comes from GOD, and the peace I give glorifies HIM. IF we stop fuiding over the small stuff and focus on the major stuff like healing our childrens from drugs, abandonment, etc. We can focus on the skills they and we need to make this world better. A team is about strength and weakness, where one is strong and one is weak, they pick up the slack for each other. We each have talents just like these two singers( not the same talents)to bring to the table. What WE choose to do with those talents is up to us. GOD GAVE FREE WILL, HE DOES NOT FORCE ANYONE. Most of the things HE gets blame for are not HIM, but US. WE CANNOT FORCE EACH OTHER TO THINK>SAY< DO>FORGIVE>
@Alambamabomnshell10 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's fair to say Elvis died from his demons. In Elvis's last days he showed a bodyguard the Bible and said that this is the only way. Yes, he succumbed to a death from drugs but please recognize that he was PHYSICALLY dependent on drugs. Just as a diabetic is physically dependent on glucose. Addiction is a disease and in the 70's the Betty Ford Clinic had yet been opened and the stigma he believed he would have faced was worse than the medication itself. Medication that he could not write for himself mind you. Medication that was pushed in Hollywood as the norm. We shouldn't think less of one because he had a disease. Like you said only God can Judge and I believe only God knows the heart and soul of people. He is a loving God, one that understands what others don't.
