Best lesson of this song I've found on KZbin and great for beginners ... in my opinion. Every beginner needs a song they can play while driving everyone else crazy. I really think this is a good one if you take it by sections as given and go slow memorizing. Everyone wants to run before they can walk as a beginner, don't. walk it, learn t. May Johnny be at peace ... and making music.

Someone earlier pointed out the irony of an Italian who lives in England teaching Americans how to play this song. Not to be repetitious, but I had to learn this for my band. I was not a fan of this song, but your lesson really made this much easier for me. I appreciate your taking the time to share this video. Thank you.

Best lesson of the Luther Perkins version on YT. Very difficult to replicate his or Bob Wooton's rail drive live though. Both of these guys were instrumental to the Cash sound. Great job man, I learned something from your lesson - thanks.
@n.rcashofficial Жыл бұрын
I've noticed Bob Wootton's a little easier, since it's more simple than what Luther had.

Dario is great at how he teaches BUT Marty Stuart ROCKS when watching him play this "live". I was very fortunate to be in a band that opened two shows for Marty on July 17, 2008 in Hiawassee, Georgia, and it truly was a dream come true! Marty LOVES playing live and you can really tell that it shows on his face and the Fabulous Superlatives faces as well!

I was just looking for something on how to play the guitar solo and found this video. It was very useful and now I have the basis for the whole song, not just the solo. I like the way he carefully laid out each phrase. I'm a bit unsure of the flourish at the end but I should be able to figure it out.

ANOTHER GREAT LESSON-- thanks- Odd, even this short little song utilizes all three flats-- the flatted 3rd, 5th, and 7th-- I fully expected to find these notes in all rock and blues songs; (and Brent Mason licks); but not OLD country songs. -- but there they are in this Johnny Cash classic.
