"Folsom Prison Blues" is a song written and recorded by American country music artist Johnny Cash. The song combines elements from two popular folk genres, the train song and the prison song, both of which Cash would continue to use for the rest of his career. It became one of Cash's signature songs. It was the eleventh track on his debut album With His Hot and Blue Guitar but was also included (same version) on All Aboard the Blue Train.

I can't believe this has been published since 2014 and I haven't seen this performance yet. Quite possibly the first televised performance of Bob Wootton.

I think Johnny cash at this stage was still shock of Luther perkin's death and after rehabilitating from the drugs..

This was October 1968, Luther died just 2 months before. I would agree. Also, Cash never fully got off the drugs. He was in rehab for only 11 days, he was taken them still but just controlled.

Holy cow. Thought I’d seen about every live clip from that ‘68 era right after the Folsom album. Amazing. I’m guessing the CMA’s from early 69 maybe??? Thank you for posting.
