Can we just appreciate not only did Merle Haggard do great impressions and was a decent man, He also wrote and played almost all of his own songs, actually served time in prison, spoke out against doing wrong and trying to be good, and was by all accounts, a great singer, songwriter, and a great guitarist. Friend to many, was a living legend in his time, and a man we will always miss. Merle was one in a million. Long live the Hag

When my wife and I watch, The Voice, we notice alot a good voices but there really isn't anything that just jumps out at you. Those people are already discovered.... unless they are 13 years old. What these people will never have, unless they can write it themselves is a number one hit. That is the difference between all the genre music now and back then. If you have the talent for writing and decent/good voice. You'd be a star. You don't have to have pipes like Whitney Houston. Just write and write and write.

And last but not least use to be you had a issue with someone you fought fist to fist. The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour was a great show from 69 to 72. I think this was one of the last shows? Only Glen could have pulled this kind of talent together all on stage at the same time. Everyone in the music and entertainment business had great respect for him and would have done this for him in a heartbeat. Everyone here was talented as hell but I think Glen was in a class all his own. One of the original members of The Wrecking Crew. Also "One of the best-selling solo male artists in U.S. chart history, Glen Campbell released more than 70 albums, selling 50 million copies with more than 80 songs charting". Not to mention all the artists that covered his tunes.

Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, and Jerry Reed are the ones I am aware of that passed away. It sucks when you get to know someone’s music and they pass. Aside from their work, they kind of leave a hole in your heart. At least Buck left us the Chrystal Palace in Bakersfield. And at least my Dad has some cool country music to listen to in heaven. God bless Glen, Buck and the rest of these good folks. Life goes too quickly.

It's funny how 8+ minutes of country music can invoke so many wonderful memories and times. Wish I could go back and live my life in the 70's again, knowing what I know today. I'd appreciate things so much more than when I was a kid. I'd being listening to this and a lot more music from then. Today's music just doesn't compare. It all sounds the same now. So blah, so bland. This clip here and these stars make you wish for Doc Browns time machine and a tank of gas. Just enough to get you there but not come back. Rest In Peace Glenn and all those we loved. You are missed.
