What he says about not trusting yourself/your thoughts is actually setting me free from a lot of bondages. I’ve been a defeated Christian for 15 years, it’s the first time I’m hearing something that is really helping me with the intrusive thoughts, anxieties, depression I normally get. He words things in a way that just gets to my heart, it’s like I’m hearing the gospel for the first time. It’s a new revelation and understanding. It’s a miracle. I guess it’s God speaking to me through him.

It’s only been maybe a month since I’ve stumbled across Johnny Chang. I’ve been a huge fan ever since. What if you ask for forgiveness, but the other person does not accept your apology, puts you down, wants to talk about the past all the time, and doesn’t want to forget about what you’ve done to them?

God only asks of us to forgive our brother or sister. It is not dependant on them forgiving us. Even if they slander you as long as you live, and provided you do not hold anything against them you are doing the will of God. By them putting you down and talking about the past all the time you are bearing the sufferings Christ also bore. You must rejoice. “For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.” (1 Peter 2:19-21) Always remember that person is under bondage from the evil one and it is not themselves who say these evil things to you but Satan who is working through that person. Just like when someone is sick at a hospital you hate that sickness they have that is causing them to suffer rather than hating the person themselves. In the same way hate the sickness (sin) but do not associate the sickness within them with the person themselves who is made in the image of our suffering Christ.

Satan does not have power to know what we are thinking or our thoughts. But he has the power to influence our thoughts (put thoughts into our mind) Meaning not all thoughts we have are of our own. So whenever you have a bad or evil thought repeat: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God have mercy on me a sinner.” and do the sign of the cross (in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) and the evil one will depart from you as he trembles before the cross and is unable to bear the strength of it.
