I’m Mexican and that’s one of that bad things we tend to do call all Asian “chinos” which back then I didn’t know how bad it was because that’s what I would hear growing up however, now I know and learned that it’s actually racist and try to also educate other that don’t understand or know how bad that is but I like how he also admits how his gang would also insult and say racist things to other gangs

Man, being called Chino was the worst and traumatizing growing up in the 90's. I had a lot Mexican friends and they would still call me Chino. It was a trigger word like calling a black person the N word if you weren't black. But all that stuff is now the past. Asians and Hispanics have so much in common as well, especially when it comes to family, hard work and of course the food culture. We're all one people learning to live peacefully together in the same neighborhood. All love.

Born and raised in Monterey Park, Rosemead, Alhambra till I was 14 it was real shit with the Asians and Mexicans straight up brawls in the 90’s. I went to Garvey Junior High in the 90’s and it was deep man. At a young age there were sick fucken brawls, huge 50 on 50 type of rumbles. But at the end of the day I had many close friends that were Asian, vietnamese, and Cambodian. It was wild back then. I love you all much love

Rough recipe Brown ground beef (I used 97% lean) and set aside Chop and caramelize 1 yellow onion in same pan De-glaze onions and scrape pan with some white wine Add beef back in Add soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and honey plus a little chili oil Cook down until thickened Add in green onions and cook until they are tender After cooled, I topped the beef with chopped fresh basil Added a little white rice to the bottom to soak up the juices but it honestly would be fine on its own I cheated for the Kimchi and bought it at the store but am actually looking forward to making it for the first time soon! Egg recipe is below in comments Broccoli was just steamed and I ended up eating it with a little sriracha mayo on top but totally optional, as well 10/10 will be making for lunches again!
