@@dizzy6277 This amazing man of God was in and out of prison from 12 to 25 (a convicted felon on 2 charges he served time for), has had multiple people die and is claiming a connection to a well known Asian LA gang… I doubt he wouldn’t have been checked by now if he was lying. Michael having being a former mafia member surely would’ve checked out his story before having him on too. Also I understand his glazing over certain topics they are probably super personal and heartbreaking for him… the fact this man I haven’t seen say he has PTSD or something after all he’s been through is another testament of God’s glory. M.F knows he’s for real “gangster recognise gangster.” This is not a kind of life many people (like me) would want to talk about, let alone proclaim openly as his testimony but is.

I was involved in the "life" for over half my life. My mother rest her soul , never gave up on me, never judged me or preached to me, always accepted me, but in that quiet way she slowly pulled me out that life to were one day we were haveing a coffee and i said mom i dont want do this no more im going to stop, i never went back to that life after we had that coffee. our relationship changed from mom and son to her becoming my best friend and then my mother, it was rough afte that coffee , i had to disappear for a while move out town but she was there when i was gone and there when i came back. sadly she passed 3 or was it 4 yrs later. but it was my honor to take care of her the same as she did my whole life. so never give up hope, just be there for your children, dont judge them, dont tell them how there life is bad, just talk about other things, anything but that life. they need to see/hear other stuff. let a small seed be planted. though my mother i found god, but it took 35 ish years. i was young and knew everything then i got older and released i knew nothing. now i have a wife, kids legally own everything in my life. i might be broke but im probably the happiest iv been in my soul, and that is all because of my mom and her quiet, accepting, none judgemental way. have faith, even if your faith falters , remeber the lords doesnt and he will be there all ways for you and your children. Much love from Alberta Canada. Happy new year.

But the circumstances that forced me had me in nerves, it had me pissed off. Today was the day I was finally done, and I got this feeling of peace, then this comes along and reminded me that I was tested. Do this thing, it is a simple thing, but it is better than yesterday. That moment when they can’t look each other in the face is the pride rejecting what is meant to happen. It brought me to tears because similarly, when I was 19 years old , I also thought I would die young. I was sitting in a classroom, with my big baggy sweater when the teacher asked us to pair up. He said, finish the sentence….i would like to work on….and I finished with “my relationship with my Dad.” The next question was asked 12 times. When you think about working on your relationship with your Dad, what words or phrases come to mind? After answering 12 times, my partner then asked me “when you think of working on your relationship with your father, which word or phrases stick out to you, and we went through a process of elimination answers I had given until I arrived on the last one, which was LOVE. I was sitting in a classroom I felt I didn’t belong in, in complete tears, crying for the first time in front of people, strangers, and all I knew was that I had been the problem in my home and had blamed my dad for everything I was doing with my life and all I wanted was to feel love between him and I. My life changed after that moment. Thanks be to God.

I'm not Christian, but i love hearing stories of people healing, getting over their trauma and give themselves a chance to be better. Johnny's story is such a powerful one, I enjoyed listening to every minute of it and i'm glad he found his way. This is the real beauty of religions, although i'm non religious, I still recognize that some teachings and beliefs can help people go through so much, people just need a path and a chance.

I WAS IN TEARS AT THE END. SO GLAD JOHNY GOT A CHANCE TO SAY THOSE THINGS TO HIS DAD. I NEVER COULD BEFORE MINE PASSED AWAY. SUFFERED SEVERE GRIEF FOR THE last 10 years. Only through rehab with an elder in the jungle, I managed to forgive, surrender, let go and keep living. Sent this to some of my friends with broken homes. Great conversation.

This touched me and when Johnny described Romans 7, talk about how much all of us need to hear this...its so deep that I want to even thank him for saying what Romans 7 says...it can effect us in so many areas, taking abuse in relationships, for me when family members die my sister all I wanted was pain....till I put her to rest in my mind...we tend to want pain and do things to get that pain....I absolutely love the meaning behind it...I think yeah it was the pastor talking to him but it takes the hand of God for us to listen....Thanks Guys...

Going through a lot right now and it’s crazy how much Johnny has helped me find some peace and bring me closer to God. Ultimately, God will lead us out of our storms and when we walk with him that peace will fulfill us and we can move on from the sin that torments us from the past. ❤

See so many people commenting this, and how true. Alot of podcasters seem to always want to get the episode finished as soon as possible. They will get half way through a good story that has you gripped then podcaster will butt in with something stupid like 'yeah what did you have for dinner' then guest has lost their train of thought then onto the next boring question

Whenever I hear about someone having had an abusive, alcoholic father and how much of an impact it actually has on us as young boys for not having a father figure, I can't help but feel sad a little bit because it's just something I also went through I'm 21 now and trying to figure life out and sometimes I think about how different things would be had I had a father... I'd probly have had some discipline, and I'd have had more confidence maybe but instead he put me through more hell than anything

We’re not bound by the occurrences of the past. Often times people use these past occurrences as justification for their actions or more often their inaction. Sounds harsh but your perception of these events and how they shape you are entirely up to you.

It's tough I was angry with God because I felt I got ripped off. Dad died when I was 10. He drank to forget the war and somehow thought it was his duty to toughen me up with the belt. I still remember from age 6 if you cry you'll get 2 more. I had an older brother that took no interest. Mom would read the Bible and prey and I was trying to punch a priest through the confessional. I finally started to listen to mom. Things got better got married had 2 kids. I swore I'd never let my kids experience what I went through. Well I felt there's something to Christianity so me and my wife accepted christ at calvary chapel. A week later she's gone. She was having a affair and I was now trying to figure out how to raise 2 kids. I had to sell my home give her half. I once again denounced my faith and things got worse. I called out God and asked why. Anyway my point Things don't change overnight. I quit asking why kept my promise to my kids. I spent the next 20 years doing 3 things working raising my kids and praying. Well both my kids graduated college. I finally get to live my life and bam moms gets dementia and I spend the next 6 years taking care of her. Talk about hell on earth. Anyway I'm retired and own my home . I thank God everyday for miracle he performed.

Don't count on that, just do it yourself. I had my dad, he ruined my confidence because nothing I ever did was good enough and he'd tell me, even if I did something correctly. I may have some discipline but it's more self taught after living life as a drug addict 16 of my 32 years bro. Just gotta believe in yourself

"Unbeif is a sin". Recently read that in Hebrews. A hugh revelation for me. Been a christian for 5 decades but just beginning to learn of that verse. Discovered real peace & joy in the process too (opened & willing heart in truely believing). Thanks Johnny, for confirming that. Almost fell of my chair when u quoted that verse. Amazingly deep & thoughtful & powerful testimony that touches souls. This is really work of the great comnission. Tq, young man.

Much of this stuff I’ve learned on my own, and it’s hard to take your own teaching to heart when you don’t know how valid they are, but to hear someone explain almost exactly what goes through your head really helps narrow the path for the future

Seen a few Johnny interviews earlier and got really emotional from watching him. This one is the best one so far Johnny. I’m so happy to find your channel Michael, been watching many episodes since i found your channel. Been struggling for more than 30 years with identity how to fit in, so the streets was a easy option and been in and out of the streets for more than 30 years as an adoptive from Korea.

Really love this sit down. Growing up in NYC and being Chinese you know that the Italians and Chinese mafia had lots of interactions and mostly got along and co-existed in most cases. And they were literally next to each other in little Italy and Chinatown.
