Technical ability wise Dave Allen is a level or so above Fisher (not a world beater by any means but certainly capable) his biggest problem is his history of going into fights poorly prepared whereas Johnny Fisher for all his technical shortcomings always turns up in shape so even if Allen puts in the camp of his life this time it may not be enough to get him in the shape he'll need to be in to make that extra ability count

ya i dunno if a 100% dave allen ever has or ever will exist. hes the sort of guy who will show up to half his training camp and then go out on a bender the night before the fight. he seems like a guy who has a mental block when it comes to making smart decisions.

Dave fischer is going to flatten Dave Allen. I like Allen but he is about as consistent as me in the ring and i don't even box. Tbh he is lucky he even has a shot

Absolutely bang on Allen's punch output has always been terrible even in the early rounds can't see that changing -comfortable win for Fisher who at least throws with intent.

Dave is basically about 20% more than putting in that fat pudding, Jay McFarlane. Lazy, undisciplined, doesn't train properly. Yet regularly promises to change and do more. But never does. Basically the Nile Ranger of boxing.

Allen's already hinted he wants to go into spoiler mode in this fight. This indicates he's not confident enough to be able to box with Fisher, despite Allen's vastly greater experience. He's also admitted he doesn't want to go in with Itauma or Kabayel as they're too good for him. A confident man never admits such things. The dog in him has gone. He quit against Frazer Clarke to 'fight another day'. During Allen's pomp, part of his strengths were his dog and durability. Both are diminished now.

Dave Allen has never really had a full training camp in his whole career, a fully motivated and fit Dave Allen could easily drag Johnny Fisher into deep waters but as you say it’s the punch output that is the problem

Part of Allen's inconsistent messaging is that we don't actually know how good or bad his camps have been. For the Lucas Browne fight he was saying his camp was amazing. Then years later he said it was less than ideal. For the Frazer Clarke fight again last year, amazing camp, doing all the right things, diet, etc. Then months later says the reason he quit was because he'd barely sparred anyone since 2020 and forgotten what it felt like to be hit hard... He definitely has a chance against Fisher but he's always full of excuses if he loses.
