Lyrics I met Jane in September's throw January's grass, we let each other go I met Helen on March's back She took my coat and she stole my hat I met you when the weather got fine You said 'I've got yours if you've got mine And the worst and best of all we knew Stayed out to rust in the morning dew Didn't take long to sing our love Was a harvest feast, was a hand to glove When winter came you couldn't stand to sit You just the same never burnt but lit With a world at war and my thoughts on you I didn't care to fall, there wasn't much to do And the worst and best of all we knew Stayed out to rust in the morning dew Churlish May when the year was fair Gone full circle when things went square Ate my meal an un-noble beast Left me to pay not a movable feast Look I got nothing, dunno where I am Got a fistful of questions, not an answer to hand And the worst and best of all we knew Stayed out to rust in the morning dew Morning dew With a blow me down the road, dead in the wood Further from you now, then the roots from the leaves Drunk on the wood, never seen any trees My ore's out the water and the lake that I'm sailing Is your dear father's daughter and it's cold and I'm ailing Are you drowning me slowly, was the school meant to teach Are you leaving so slowly, where's the shore, where's the beach? And the worst and best of all we knew Stayed out to rust in the morning dew

i'm curious as to why he''s still playing in reasonsabl small venues with audiences such as this, who, quite frankly, don't seem that bothered. Why is he not selling out arenas and playing in huge venues where the crowd know every word of every song? I just think he should be considerably more famous than he is, given his talent

Gave most of my heart a away over the years In little Bits and parts Now an old man Who's lost in body and mind Trapped a by a selfish fire Burning everything up It's not because of being so physically weak Its not being a helping caring fool That keeps me blue That was a big part of my hearts greatest feats Nothing here lasts anymore and Nothings true So these days i smoke and smoke Between medications sleepy nods Always feeling sick If only i could help someone a stranger no matter who Just give a hand To lighten the load their carrying I'd scream and cry feeling so happy In body and heart Finally A real Moveable feast

I only discovered him last year when I saw him in the movie, "Song One", purchased the soundtrack and started researching his music. I hope as he gets older and more seasoned he might write at least a few songs that transcend personal experience and speak more to universal themes...or maybe I'm just not intelligent enough to understand some of his lyrics. They have beautiful imagery either way.
@auroracandy54666 жыл бұрын
moronextraordinnaire I think "The Wrote And The Writ" is a good example of when he sings and writes from personal experience and a universal theme. I just thought I'd recommend it on the off chance you haven't heard that one :) x

@harrywhoyou Apologies, if I wasn't clear enough. What I mean is, how has he wired it up? I can't see the pickup, would he have taped a piezo to the inside or something? I've got something similar to his amped tone at the moment, using a contact mic on my acoustic, and using a low level of overdrive on my amp.

@william46615 жыл бұрын
You should realise that no one is good looking. Because even if you are considered 'attractive' according to beauty ideals, you've been used to it because you've been in your body all your lfie since birth. So it's not special to you yourself. And people reminding you look attractive according to beauty ideals, are just telling you they can't see you for the human you are. Kind-hearted "ugly" people, and kind-hearted "beautiful" people suffer the same way: No one sees them for who they truly are, and we all keep that bullshit going by projecting our own sadness onto someone else's ugliness or beauty. Either with insults or compliments.
