He really opened my eyes. It’s not only what he said, but also how he said it: “We are slowly getting re-hardwired not to engage in our environment.” Would definitely enjoy going on long walks to get inspired by the nature around me and to get to the core of my being, my dreams and urges without being compelled to consume or follow influencers... I would also very much enjoy these walks with Johnny’s songs in my ear. :-) What a kind person, what a talent, what a man... ❤️

How illuminating! I also assumed everyone did this, and then grew up and have learned otherwise. So nice to know I was/am not alone. I prefer to travel solo so that I have this freedom as well-- otherwise, you just have the same experience in a different setting. With this one life, I want to be open. And I want my phone to not rewire my brain. I think Herzog said that, if he wasn't a filmmaker, he would just walk on foot. Similar to the concepts of "child's mind" and mindfulness that John Kabat-Zinn promotes.

the interview lacked the actual person, the interalation with the voice and face was missing . visual adds that peak of intensity love was a bit lost

If she would hold back and let him go with his flow it would be a more valuable interview but there are some gems of insight. He's been born into the wrong era IMO.

Agreed - at one point I thought, isn’t she interviewing HIM? Broke up his flow.

Hi, it is wonderful to turn the kaleidoscope, or allow it to turn, and to see new shapes and colours... but there would be no shapes nor colours at all, including "new" shapes and colours, if not for the relatively stable structures, slower-to-change patterns, allowing us to perceive... Order and structure and movement and change are. It's probably healthy to acknowledge that "to-do-lists" and planning as well as openness and "flow" are all potentially very wonderful things... all needed for creativity probably, including musicianship and acting... however many degrees separated... Easy to get caught in "false dichotomies" (did i just create one in categorizing content as a false dichotomy?) Just another perspective to add to the one offered in above video.

Just thoughts. I'm not sure if i'm universally "right", but, I like planning and to-do-lists some days and other days, i like to ride my bike down a random alley and see what new sights arrive... that sort of thing. Anyways, geography and diversifying one's navigation are good things. Agree.

the part about not keeping one's head down, but to look up and out and sense and feel and engage and look inwards sometimes as well, to not necessarily "get lost", but to find place and/or to be found, find meaning and community with the greater world, moment by moment... i prefer that too. i feel safer some times when i do that... finding places to connect is helpful. Health is a simple issue made complicated by trauma and mistrust. It's some times very difficult to live freely in this world, especially when you do not have a developed skill or talent that allows you to gather money and status; you are disempowered... having to pay to live. Such a state of being requires to-do-lists and planning... to do your resume, apply here and there, buy these or those shoes or clothes for interviews etc Then it's, go here on these days to make your money so that you can eat and have shelter... all the while knowing your life is being wasted and lost and a strange man calls out at you as they drive by in a truck, you walking alone along a road, no sidewalk, or someone approaches you at the bus stop... Being out some times doesn't feel safe... I understand... We all have a responsibility to create safety and community and through that comes greater freedom... It would be nice to have a healthier life allowing for the greater freedom and ease Johnny talks about... i agree with him, and i understand very deeply... But, the greater society, the culture and the cultural premises, are not healthy... and there are too many people poorly nurtured, unhealthy, relatively ignorant and behaving poorly and infecting the world with trauma and mistrust. This world was constructed by a patriarchal system... it arose out of a state of imbalance... Sexism is still a dark force in the world, all over the world... it's awful. Freedom does not come easily to most people. I understand very well and agree... it is painful to live in the world that does not understand. And because they do not understand they can not recognize that it is the culture and its guiding premise that must change...
