A legend... Johnny Hallyday was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, in Paris and passed away on the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, in Paris at the age of 74. He is the son of a Belgian father and a French mother. In 57 years of career, he recorded around 1300 songs. 180 songs were turned into music videos or scopitones. 758 authors and composers collaborated with Johnny. Johnny composed 105 songs himself and also composed about ten pieces for other artists. He also wrote and co-wrote a few songs. Johnny also has 545 duets with 188 different artists on 214 tracks. His first 45 RPM record was released on March 14, 1960, but it was on December 30, 1959, that he was heard for the first time on the radio in the show "Paris cocktail." On April 18, 1960, under the "patronage" of Line Renaud, he made his first television appearance in "L'école des vedettes." 57 years later, 93 certifications including 41 gold records, 4 double gold records, 23 platinum records, 8 double platinum records, 5 triple platinum records, and 12 diamond records (including one double diamond and one triple diamond) testify to an exceptional career, crowned by 10 Victoires or special Victoires or Victoires d'honneur of music. And 2 NRJ Music Awards. Johnny is the most acclaimed French artist and the one who has sold the most records in France. The number of units sold is estimated at 200 million, including more than 110 million records sold. Imagine if he had had an international career... With 805,000 sales in one week of "Mon pays c'est l'amour" (51st album) (posthumous album), Johnny was ranked No. 1 worldwide in 2018. A stage beast recognized by all, Johnny went on more than 184 tours and attracted nearly 30 million spectators throughout his career, having given more than 3502 concerts. Johnny is the only French artist whose almost complete works have been recorded in audio and video. About twenty fan clubs (approximately 10,000 members in total). Johnny is also an actor with no less than 43 films (including appearances) to his credit throughout his career. He received a "Jean Gabin" award in 2004 for the film "L'homme du train". Johnny was a good actor, but the films they offered him were not good films, unfortunately.. He dreamed of being an actor and not a singer, but life had other plans, and fortunately so!! Johnny was a great friend of animals, he always had dogs in his life, the animal cause was close to his heart, in 2002 he performed a magnificent song against those who abandon their animals. The song is titled "Au bord des routes" from the magnificent album "À la vie à la mort." In 2016, a year before his death, he was on a motorcycle road trip with friends on American roads, and it was then that he found an abandoned puppy by the side of the road. He couldn't resist and adopted her; the little dog is named "Cheyenne." He also sang a song that evokes the brutal repression by Chinese authorities of the Tiananmen Square protests in June 1989; the song is titled "Tienanmen" from 1991. He was a man with a big heart. He was made a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1997, he has also been an officer of the Order of the Crown since 2001, but above all, he has been a knight of the Arts and Letters since 1995. He has sung in several languages.(Anglais, italien, espagnol, turc, japonais et allemand). By listening to his songs, you will realize that this great singer was capable of singing anything. There is something for everyone: rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues, soul, psychedelic rock, soft rock, pop rock, rockabilly, country, a rock opera album (Hamlet) from 1976.(This album was ahead of its time). A unique voice... His voice has continued to evolve over the years, becoming more and more powerful and precise. Johnny can be compared to the greatest singers in the world!! He brought together the rich, the less wealthy, and the poor. He brought together several generations. He gave exceptional concerts, with wild entrances like at the Parc des Princes in 1993, entering from the back of the stadium and parading through the crowd for three consecutive nights. (no one had done that before him). and he did it again in 2013 at Bercy, in 1998 he arrived by helicopter above the Stade de France, in 1984 at the Zenith he emerged from a giant hand (they had to break a wall to get the hand above the stage), in 2012 at the Stade de France he arrived in a giant flying ball resembling a mine, which landed on stage, and so on. Here are some songs: "Quelques cris, L'envie, Allumer le feu, Ce qui tue pas nous rend plus fort, Tu es elle, Que je t'aime, Je te promets, Quelque chose de Tennessee, Vivre pour le meilleur, Pense à moi, Marie, Laisse moi tomber, S'il nest pas trop tard, Ma religion dans son regard, Le temps passe, Si tu pars(2005), Mon plus beau Noël, Te savoir près de moi, Sang pour sang, Aimer vivre, Ça ne change pas un homme, True to you, Tien an men, Cadillac, Je ne suis pas un héros 'Bercy 1990', Requiem pour un fou 'Parc des Princes 1993', Derrière l'amour, Gabrielle, Ce que je sais, Moulin à vent, C'est du vent, Voyage au pays des vivants, À tout casser, Fumée, Comme si je devais mourir demain, J'ai oublié de vivre, Elle m'oublie, La musique que j'aime, Ma gueule, L'instinct, Diego 'Bercy 92', Animal, Un jour viendra, I am the blues, Ça ne finira jamais, De l'amour, La douceur de vivre, La paix, Debout, Pardonne-moi, Vent de panique, La loi du silence, Seul au beau milieu d'un lac, Sable mouvant, Ne m'oublie pas, Mon pays c'est l'amour, Made in rock'n'roll, Qui ose aimer, Autoportrait, Rock'n'roll attitude, Rester libre, J'ai pleuré sur ma guitare, L'amour peut prendre froid(duet with Céline Dion), Ne reviens pas, Rock'n'roll star (movie)duet with Fabrice Luchini(actor), J'la croise tous les matins, Quand le masque tombe, Et puis je sais, Pirate de l'air, Un rêve à faire, M'arrêter là, Essayez, Le coeur en deux, Entre chiens et loups, Un monde à part, A propos de mon père, Regarde moi t'aimer, Jamais(duet with Florent Pagny), Je serai là, Mirador, Les vautours, J'oublierai ton nom, Le chanteur abandonné, Toi tais-toi, Ne tuez pas la liberté, Montpellier, Il nous faudra parler d'amour un jour, J'ai épousé une ombre, Je n'oublierai jamais, Je suis nu je suis mort, Il me faudra plus de temps que m'en donnera la vie, Le bol d'or, Noël interdit, De la race humaine, Le pénitencier, La terre promise, La fille aux cheveux clairs, La fille de l'hiver, Sage pour vous, La tournée, J'aimerais pouvoir encore souffrir comme ça, La guitare fait mal, Parties de cartes, Pardon, Un cri, L'amour à mort, Prière pour un ami, Rouler vers l'ouest, Te manquer, Noir c'est noir, etcccc And many others.... 💯💣🗯💫🦾💪💥

It's a song by Johnny Hallyday from the magnificent album "Derrière l'amour" from 1976. When Johnny sings this song alone in concert he puts on more intensity. Here on this duet less because he would have asked that we lower his microphone to make Lara shine. Johnny in all his generosity...

Johnny Halliday was rock legendary singer in France. This duet is an epic. They both sing with the emotion and passion. Thank you for the great reaction. 100 likes. Greetings from Vietnam 🇻🇳. This song talks about a man who killed his wife because he loves her and doesn’t want to lose her.

Johnny Halliday: Belgian who came to France for the sake of his music career. Went to live in America as well, where he even died. Lara Fabian: born in Belgium. Father was Flemish, mother was Sicilian.

Ok I will try to give the full context: • Johnny : the most admired singer in France from early 60s to 2017 when he died. He is the Elvis of France, sold more than 110M records WW. A real power house, here the mics were balanced to favor Lara as he wanted her to shine. When he died, there were national funerals, with hundred of bikers on the Champs-Elysees, 1 million people along the path of the funeral procession. And this song was played when the coffin penetrated in the church. • The song: this is an anthem song for him, that he used to sing alone. This was turned into a duet for Lara. The story of the song was created in reference to a very famous old french classic movie: Le Jour se Leve (1939) where the main character is barricaded and surrounded by the police, having killed his girlfriend. • The venue/event: Johnny’s concerts in Stade de France ( biggest stadium in Paris and France) in front of min 80,000. Lara was the surprise special guest. They were supposed to perform it 3 times in a row on September 1998 (4th, 5th and 6th). The first night on the 4th, it was deluge of rain, , the scene was outdoor, it was risky and they decided at the last minute, with the crowd in the stadium, to postpone it to Sep 11th . Johnny was devastated. The second night and the third night the weather was fine enough. The orchestra and choir setup was amazing, the choir especially which was distributed on huge stairs climbing to the sky. But the night of 11th, the rain was here again. Johnny absolutely refused to cancel this time. This is this Sep 11th show that you just watched and the rain just added some dramatic effect to the whole performance. The orchestra was located under a tent. The choir was grouped on the floor and on some balconies (not on stairs anymore obviously) • Lara: she was at the beginning of her career in France and this performance became legendary and accelerated her fame there. She was unknown in France when, in February 1998, she performed this song in duet with Johnny for Les Enfoires, the most attended France TV Show of each year. Johnny was so surprised and amazed by Lara performance that he decided to do this song again as a duet with her for the 3 big concerts a few months later. In between February and September, the album Pure from Lara had become an absolute mega hit in France, and Lara was already a star. But this live performance where she performs as a surprise guest definitely extended her fame and she got new fans across the entire country.

Lara's microphone sound was at maximum (it resonated..) and Johnny's was lower.. It was Johnny who asked for it to be done like that. Lara was his guest at the Stade de France and he wanted her to demonstrate her vocal power and shine. Lara herself confirmed it. Johnny in all his generosity... Know that Johnny was a vocal power too but on this last interpretation he did not want because it was done on purpose, Johnny was very intelligent in doing that to make the song more dramatic and show their acting on this magnificent song that belongs to him. The desired goal was the dramatic side of the singing all in power but less than Lara (Johnny) with at the same time next to him a more striking singing power (Lara) and the passionate play between the two. Everything was imagined by Johnny himself to end the last interpretation in style. A masterpiece, perhaps the most beautiful duet in the world..🎉💥💯💫💣💪

Requiem for a fool, yes. It's the story of a man who kills his woman out of passion ''I loved her so much that to keep her I killed her''. He is barricaded inside his home with the police outside. Someone else might say it better, but that's the gist of it. You are good to have felt that from the video. 😅

Lyrics in english Requiem for a fool I'm warning you don't come near Whether you are cops or onlookers I kill the one who takes a step I will not give a gift Turn off all your spotlights And lower your pointing guns No, I won't fly away without her Tell the priest, tell the pastor Elsewhere they go get hanged The Devil passed early And my soul is no longer for sale If you leave me tonight At dawn I will give you my life What would my life be for me without her? I was just crazy but out of love She made me crazy, crazy for love My sky was her eyes, her mouth My life was his body, his heart I loved her so much that to keep her I killed her For a great love to live forever He must die, he must die of love The day dawns, the night fades Hunters and dogs are hungry It's time to ring the hallali The beast must die this morning I will open wide the shutters Break my heart, I'm ready I want to fall asleep forever near her I was just crazy but out of love She made me crazy, crazy for love My sky was her eyes, her mouth My life was his body, his heart I loved her so much that to keep her I killed her I'm just crazy A madman in love, a poor madman Who dies who dies of love

It is a story of a guy who killed somebody because of love and now, at sun rise, the police is going to storm his apartment and kill him. In flashback , we see how the all story happended. *Jesse* Hello from South France, There is an English translation (subtitles) with the same video on YT (Kuzco Pacha channel). I forget, If you want to discover the incredible *Johnny Hallyday,* a real icon in France since the 60s and until 2017 (Year of its dead), try: *"Johnny Hallyday - Johnny Hallyday - Je te promets (clip officiel Remasterisé)"* (I promise you). The English translation (you'll find one easily on the net) on the side during the reaction is essential to understand the lyrics entirely, as the musical arrangements that cleverly carry the song and allow *Johnny* to express his incredible talent as an interpreter fully. (For me his best song ever with "L'envie") For a song musically approaching "Requiem pour un fou", try: *"Johnny Hallyday - Vivre Pour Le Meilleur (Remastered Official Clip)"* (Live for the best). You can find the translation on my page (same pseudo "Lets Chill Page) on the *Lyrics Translate* website. You'll be amazed, cause in "Requiem pour un fou," to make the focus on Lara's voice, he decided to low its own mic. For a powerful and catchy live song, try: *"Johnny Hallyday / L'envie / Live Parc des Princes 2003"* (The Desire). You can find the translation on my page (same pseudo "Lets Chill Page) on the *Lyrics Translate* website. For a stunning concert finale, try: *"Johnny Hallyday - Tour Eiffel 2000 - Final - Aimer vivre"* (Concert in *Paris* offered on the occasion of his *50-year career,* beneath the *Eiffel Tower* in front of *500,000* people) Have a productive day, mate. 🤗

While i'm not a fan of Johnny or that kind of male voice or singer, this was a great performance. And Lara's vocals here are just stupendous. You were quite well on the track what was going on without the subtitles. Man you're a talent. 😁 Next Lara reaction, perhaps yet an other side of her. Suites well after this you just reacted. Its' called Dites Moi Pourquoi Je L'aime, live in 1998. That should be a nice track to continue with your Lara reactions...Be sure to get the right version, some has bad audio. Pour un fou: for an idiot. Johnny Halliday: Belgian who went to France for the sake of his music career. Went to live in America as well, where he even died. Lara Fabian: born in Belgium. Father was Flemish, mother was Sicilian. Went to France for the sake of her music career.
