Quelque chose de Tennessee is a song written by Michel Berger for Johnny Hallyday. It pays tribute to the American playwright Tennessee Williams, In the introduction to the song you can hear, Nathalie Baye (French actress) who was Johnny's girlfriend at that time

Johnny Hallyday was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, in Paris and passed away on the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, in Paris. He is the son of a Belgian father and a French mother. In 57 years of his career, he recorded around 1300 songs. 180 tracks have been made into a music video or a scopitone. 758 authors and composers collaborated with Johnny. Johnny composed 105 songs himself and also composed about ten tracks for other artists. He has also written and co-written a few songs. Johnny also has 545 duets with 188 different artists on 214 tracks. His first 45 RPM record was released on March 14, 1960, but it was on December 30, 1959, that it could be heard for the first time on the radio in the show "Paris cocktail." On April 18, 1960, under the "sponsorship" of Line Renaud, he made his first television appearance in "L'école des vedettes." 57 years later, 93 certifications including 41 gold records, 4 double gold records, 23 platinum records, 8 double platinum records, 5 triple platinum records, and 12 diamond records (including one double diamond and one triple diamond) testify to an exceptional career, crowned by 10 Victoires or special Victoires or music honor Victoires. And 2 NRJ Music Awards. Johnny is the most acclaimed French artist and the one who has sold the most records in France. The number of units sold is estimated at 200 million, including more than 110 million records sold. Imagine if he had had an international career... With 805,000 sales in one week of "Mon pays c'est l'amour" (51st album) (Posthumous album), Johnny was ranked N°1 worldwide in 2018. A stage beast recognized by all, Johnny performed more than 184 tours and attracted nearly 30 million spectators throughout his career. Johnny will have given more than 3502 concerts. Johnny is the only French artist whose almost entire body of work has been recorded both audio-visually. Johnny is also an actor with, to his credit, no fewer than 43 films (including appearances) spread throughout his career. He received a "Jean Gabin Award" in 2004 for the film "L'homme du train". Johnny was a good actor, but the films he was offered were not good films, unfortunately.. Johnny dreamed of being an actor and not a singer, but life had other plans, and fortunately so!! He was a great friend of animals, he always had dogs in his life, the animal cause was dear to him, which is why he performed a magnificent song in 2002 against those who abandon their animals. The song is titled "Au bord des routes" from the magnificent album "À la vie à la mort." In 2016, a year before his death, he was on a motorcycle road trip with friends on the American roads, and it was then that he found an abandoned puppy by the side of the road. He couldn't resist and adopted her, the little dog is named "Cheyenne." He also sings a song that evokes the brutal repression by Chinese authorities of the Tiananmen Square protests in June 1989, the song is titled "Tien an men." He was a man with a big heart. About twenty fan clubs (approximately 10,000 members in total) He was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1997, he has also been an Officer of the Order of the Crown since 2001, but above all, he has been a Knight of Arts and Letters since 1995. He sang in several different languages.(English, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese, and German) He brought together the rich, the less rich, and the poor. He brought together several generations. Listening to his songs, you will realize that this very great singer was capable of singing anything. There is something for everyone's taste, rock'n'roll, rockabilly, blues, country, French variety, a rock opera album (Hamlet), etc. A unique voice.. Her voice has only evolved over the years, becoming more and more powerful and precise. Johnny can be compared to the greatest singers in the world!! He gave numerous exceptional concerts, with crazy entrances like at the Parc des Princes in 1993, entering through the back of the stadium and walking through the crowd for three consecutive nights (no one had done that before him). and he did it again in 2013 at Bercy, in 1998 he arrived by helicopter above the Stade de France, in 1984 at the Zenith he came out of a giant hand (a wall had to be broken to get the hand above the stage), in 2012 at the Stade de France he arrived in a giant flying ball resembling a mine, which landed on stage, and so on. Here are some songs: "Quelques cris, L'envie, Allumer le feu, Ce qui tue pas nous rend plus fort, Tu es elle, Que je t'aime, Je te promets, Quelque chose de Tennessee, Vivre pour le meilleur, Pense à moi, Marie, Laisse moi tomber, S'il nest pas trop tard, Ma religion dans son regard, Le temps passe, Si tu pars(2005), Mon plus beau Noël, Te savoir près de moi, Sang pour sang, Aimer vivre, Ça ne change pas un homme, True to you, Cadillac, Je ne suis pas un héros 'Bercy 1990', Requiem pour un fou 'Parc des Princes 1993', Derrière l'amour, Gabrielle, Ce que je sais, Moulin à vent, C'est du vent, Voyage au pays des vivants, À tout casser, Fumée, L'autre moitié, On me recherche, Comme si je devais mourir demain, J'ai oublié de vivre, Elle m'oublie, La musique que j'aime, Ma gueule, L'instinct, Diego 'Bercy 92', Animal, Un jour viendra, I am the blues, Ça ne finira jamais, De l'amour, La douceur de vivre, La paix, Debout, Pardonne-moi, Vent de panique, La loi du silence, Seul au beau milieu d'un lac, Sable mouvant, Ne m'oublie pas, Mon pays c'est l'amour, Made in rock'n'roll, Qui ose aimer, Autoportrait, Rock'n'roll attitude, Rester libre, J'ai pleuré sur ma guitare, L'amour peut prendre froid(duet with Céline Dion), Ne reviens pas, Rock'n'roll star (movie)duet with Fabrice Luchini(actor), J'la croise tous les matins, Quand le masque tombe, Et puis je sais, Pirate de l'air, Un rêve à faire, M'arrêter là, Essayez, Le coeur en deux, Entre chiens et loups, Un monde à part, A propos de mon père, Regarde moi t'aimer, Jamais(duet with Florent Pagny), Je serai là, Mirador, Les vautours, J'oublierai ton nom, Le chanteur abandonné, Toi tais-toi, Ne tuez pas la liberté, Montpellier, Il nous faudra parler d'amour un jour, J'ai épousé une ombre, Je n'oublierai jamais, Je suis nu je suis mort, Il me faudra plus de temps que m'en donnera la vie, Le bol d'or, Noël interdit, De la race humaine, Le pénitencier, La terre promise, La fille aux cheveux clairs, La fille de l'hiver, Sage pour vous, La tournée, J'aimerais pouvoir encore souffrir comme ça, La guitare fait mal, Parties de cartes, Pardon, Un cri, L'amour à mort, Prière pour un ami, Rouler vers l'ouest, Te manquer, etcccc And many others.... 💯💣🗯💫🦾💪💥

Hi Uncle D, I suggest you watch (maybe not react because the video ⇾ just one song, but it's the final ⇽ , and it lasts 12.40 minutes, lol) "Johnny Hallyday - Tour Eiffel 2000 - Final - Aimer vivre" if you want to understand what level of popularity he has reached in France (It should be noted he has just done a 1h45 show before starting this last title). Peace, folks. ☮👈😉

Tennessee Williams, not the state lol. But that was not that obvious, true. Yes, Johnny is the French Elvis, he was and will always be in the heart of French people. He was a huge fan of Elvis. JJ Goldman wrote the album "Gang" for Johnny: try Laura (for his daughter) or Je te promets, 2 beautiful songs.

Hello, this is a song that touches me to understand it, as is often the case, you have to understand the lyrics, here they are translated. SOMETHING FROM TENESSEE Song by Johnny Hallyday Ah, you weak and wonderful men Who puts so much grace into withdrawing from the game It takes a hand on your shoulder Pushes you towards life, this tender and light hand We all have something in us from Tennessee This desire to prolong the night This crazy desire to live another life This dream in us with his words Something from Tennessee This force that pushes us towards infinity There is little love with so much desire So little love with so much noise Something in us from Tennessee This is how Tennessee lived The heart in fever and the broken body With this tremendous desire for life This dream in us was his cry Something from Tennessee Like a star that goes out in the night At a time when others love each other madly Without a burst of voice and without a sound Without a single love, without a single friend Thus disappeared Tennessee At certain times of the night When the heart of the city fell asleep There is a feeling like a desire Ho, this dream in us, with his own words Something from Tennessee Something from Tennessee There's something in us from Tennessee There's something in us from Tennessee Oh Tennessee There's something in us from Tennessee

I'm not a huge fan of him, he never wrote any of his songs or lyrics, he covered many English language songs by putting French lyrics to them, and his fans are not the smartest bunch... I like this song, though, written by Michel Berger, who wrote for many artists. It's about Tennessee Williams, not the state. Please check out Jacques Higelin, he has written many great songs, with great lyrics, like "Laura Lorelei", "Champagne", "Vague À l'Âme", "Tête En l'Air" and many more. Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine is good, too, very different but great lyrics as well (a tad gloomy). Michel Polnareff ("Le Bal De Laze" or "Âme Câline" for instance), he's even worshipped in Japan, and of course, les Rita Mitsouko ("Marcia Baila", "C'est Comme Ça"). These two, husband and wife (he died quite young, in his 40s) have two children who look and sound exactly like them, too. Their songs were even known in the USA, their videos were shown on MTV.

“His fans are not the smartest bunch.” How condescending; it’s distressing. Yet, here, we can only notice it's you who don’t demonstrate your intelligence by being so short. Johnny Hallyday didn’t have two or three thousand fans, but millions. So you wrap everybody in a bag, without distinction: “Brave New World,” the classification of human beings; the Alpha, of which you, of course, consider yourself a part, and at the bottom, the omegas, the idiots who listen to Johnny. So, if we follow your reasoning, Pavarotti isn’t an artist worthy of the name since he doesn’t write his texts, WTF? 😎👈
