Clarifications: 1. Johnny Marr wrote this song, "Getting Away with It" with Bernard Sumner when the two formed Electronic. 2. Johnny Marr was the chief songwriter of the Smiths. He wasn't Morrissey's guitarist. They're bandmates in an equal collaboration. If anything, I would say that Johnny did most of the heavy lifting as the songwriter. 3. I've seen Johnny Marr in concert, and he is a genius rock guitarist.

Solo starting at 3:20 is my favorite Marr style. Love his extended repetition of those chord patterns. Gorgeous bell-like Fender tone. Reminds me of his part in Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others.

This is the best live performance I've ever seen, not just the quality of playing and choice of FX, but the whole mood and tone. Its perfection perfected. Their stage presence, the colour of Johnny's Jag, the lights, the shadows, the silver nail varnish and not to mention that drum roll on the outtro. There's no thorn in this bands side, they're exactly where they want and need to be. Hats off.

I was there that day, somewhere down the front, not gonna lie it was so weird watching live music in a film environment at midday instead of in a gig venue at 9pm, normally I'm a proper dancer at gigs so standing still (bar the odd bop) was strange. But you know what, I was standing a few feet away from Johnny Fuckin Marr so it was one of the best things ever!

Love this performance and live version of this great Electronic song, brilliant how Johnny has put his own stamp on it to make it different from the original version, it just works so well as a guitar track with the beautiful guitar interludes and guitar solos that entwine with those brilliant sounding syncopated guitar riffs, a quality version!!!!

That middle 8 / breakdown section was really awesome and dare I say pretty timeless. Reminds me why I took up the guitar in the first place. Best guitar solo I've heard for years. To my ears it sounds like the best bits of The The (Soul mining era) and The Stone Roses put through a breakdown / crescendo culled from Sasha's glory days. Roll on Brixton next week!!
