He's just one of the Top 3 male, pop vocalists of the entire 20th Century. That's all!! Here he does the Great Trilogy from an underrated score. It includes Dulcinea -- perhaps one of the most beautiful songs of all time. And noone - noone has ever or will ever do it better!!!

I saw Johnny in concert the first time in the late 60s in Louisville and he sang all the great songs from Man of La Mancha with the Impossible Dream the finale, complete with a disco ball. I've been a fan since 1958 and I'm so blessed to have seen him 8 times in concert and to be alive in his lifetime to enjoy his wonderful voice.

I saw a show a couple of years ago where Burt Bacharach did a RAP piece with some well known Rapper, I thought it was awful since he is one of the best song writer of ballad and my favorite composer/writer , thank God Mr. Mathis never did that , I was able to evolve along with him , he always stays true to himself and that is an attractive quality in a person ,

Johnny Mathis, the greatest singer ( along with Elvis)in our generation. I went to many of Johnny's concerts. Money well spent. He sounded better in person, if that is possible. The man with the golden voice. No one can deliver a romantic melody like him. Thank you John for all the beautiful songs you have given to us. They will live on 4 ever as long as there are lovers in this world. Sure happy you chose a singing career over sports. Wise choice, for us, that is lol. Bless you John......... live well.

man of lamanche is really his only song i like and believe i do not speak out of ijnorance, my mother was a fan of is an as a boy, she loved to crank his tapes (she had an old school reel to reel tape deck and she used to love cranking him, johnny cash, tom jones and of course, elvis)

Now you know why Frank wouldn't let John join the swing club. He and Dean couldn't mop the floor after that vocal performance. Still John has had the last laugh. Simply incredible! If you want to get the cd with the recordings of these songs, they are available on the Mercury So Nice/ Johnny Mathis Sings cd released a few years ago. To think that JM dared to hit that last high note live is a testament to his fabulous vocal ability. Many singers would never try that live. Bravo!
