This will always remind me of the magical Christmases I had with my mum. This was her favourite. She'd always put it on the record player even though she had it on CD she always said it sounded better on vinyl. She passed when I was 9 years old, unexpectedly of an asthma attack. I was lucky to spend 8 Christmases with her. Christmas has never been special since she died, BUT this song is the only one that brings back that Christmas spirit my mum always had. This song was in the top ten in December 1976, it was playing on the radio in the delivery room where I was born, it was playing the exact moment my head came out, the day after my dad went to the record store and brought the single, they kept it safe and every birthday played this song, then on my wedding day in September 1996 my dad presented the single he brought all those year's ago to me, he had the whole room tearing up telling the story how it was playing the moment i was born, I've put it somewhere safe and i will pass it down to my niece's (i would pass it down to my own children but I'm infertile) such a special song too my family

I was in ICU at the hospital last Christmas after a liver transplant on 12/15 and a code blue on 12/22 for 4 weeks. I literally missed Christmas. After returning home in February, 2021, I decided to listen to this song and other Christmas songs. After listening closely to the words, I think that this song is appropriate for all year. This is my favourite christmas song of all time. Johhny Matthis's voice is sublime. This was a massive number one over here in the UK in 1976. I cried when i first heard this fantastic beautiful meaningful song when i was 6 in 1976. This is also my 84 year old mum's who is now sadly suffering from advanced dementia favourite Christmas song. I wish I could look forward to Christmas.... 😔 Lost my Mom this May and have no one to spend it with. Constantly fearing when and where I (with multiple illnesses) might catch the deadly virus. Haven't had any help with my household and can't clean myself. Have very little money left for the rest of the year. Should I go on....? Nah... Nobody cares anyways 💔😢

Traditionally I played this song by my children’s bedside at Christmas. We would all join in, getting louder and louder . Nigel aged 11 and his twin sisters were killed by a drunken driver in Florida on a short five day holiday. I still return to that song every Christmas.
