I was laying in a hospital bed after a serious motorbike accident, I heard this song over and over. I love this iconic song.

When my son was born I started playing this song and singing along by his bedside at Christmas time. His twin sisters were born two and a half years later, and soon they were joining at Christmas time, singing loudly. When Nigel was eleven and his sisters eight we went on a short six day holiday to Florida to celebrate the sale of our house in Scotland and our impending move to sussex. On the way back to Miami airport to catch the late flight back to London a car without lights and the driver with a drink in hand reversed out of the darkness in front of us. My children and my wife were killed. After I left the Florida shores I heard nothing from the Miami police. I returned to Miami four times to see DAs and the State attorney Janet Reno: despite promises no proper prosecution took place. I miraculously survived and went on to fly Concorde, their memory spurring me on, as my book tells. (The Innocent and the Beautiful ) This song brings me to tears every Christmas as I think of those happy times. Alan Atkinson I

I was 18 when I first heard this on my car radio in 1976. It was 6am just finished my night shift. Listening to this beautiful song sung with that amazing voice was spellbinding. Before driving home I sat in my Cortina mk 2 looking over the white frosted fields and I cried. This song has always had a very special place in my heart.

Took my mum to see Johnny for her 80th birthday. My dad used to always get tickets for him in the 70s . I lost her in June this year. So much he suffered with...race, sexual preference, mixed ethnicity, etc. But you never heard of his many accomplishments, not just through songs but through his superior sports abilities too.
