@Jake Sellmeyer The game started development when The Game Room and ICE plans to port the Iron Maiden game Ed Hunter from PC to arcade after completion of Host Invaders, but they failed and cancelled the port and The Game Room went bankrupt. Instead, ICE joins Play Mechanix (who previously developed Invasion: The Abductors for Midway Games and the award-winning game Big Buck Hunter for Incredible Technologies) to develop a game similar to Ed Hunter, titled Johnny Nero: Action Hero. The game will have comic book theme and it is released on September 14, 2004 to arcades as well as Chuck E. Cheese stores.

I love how each and every chapter has its own inspiration. Space wars - Aliens (1986), Starship troopers(1997), Halo Curse of the Mummy King- Stargate(1994), the mask of amon-ra being an alien tech. Indiana Jones, The Mummy (1999), you can even see how the characters outfit resembles Rick’s outfit from the movie Ghost Town - Clint Eastwood movies and other western-like films
