Johnny Carson's hilarious moments with furry & feathered animal guests.
Some of The Tonight Show's most unforgettable moments occurred when Joan Embery of the San Diego Zoo and Jim Fowler of Wild Kingdom introduced audiences and Johnny to the always unpredictable world of wild and exotic animals. Time and again. these lovable critters reminded us all that the King of Late Night was no match for the animal kingdom.

@@christopherb4015 I love Conan and Johnny equally, and they are both good sports with the animals. A little marmoset pee on the head? No problem, it's all for laughs!

Joan always had the docile animals, but Jim had the nutcase ones and those segments he did with Johnny were often unpredictable and funny as hell!

Jim Fowler is one strong guy the way he handles large animals like that bear and very confident with what he does you can tell he's an expert if you had never heard of him or seen him before and it was instead the very first time.

My parents saw him when he came by himself to do a comedy show in RI and said he was great! My mom loved Carson. My dad always recalls how he would be sleeping and my mom would be next to him laughing hysterically and keeping him awake. Now she's gone and he recalls it all, fondly.

the wolf cubs were really adorable - really, how like dogs. adults, however, are a different story :) 🐺🌷🌱 the aardvark was also just adorable. that nose is a very developed smelling organic - it has to find termites and needs to follow their scent to get to them. i gotta hand it to Johnny, he had to handle some rough animals and he still could make incredibly funny jokes. :) LOL 😋🌷🌱

Lock died in 1988 and Lisa in 1993. They were transferred, together, to the Memphis Zoo a year after this video, then Lock was sold into entertainment, which is part of the reason why he died so young. Lisa ended up at a shitty zoo in Mexico in 1987 and died there in 1993.
