Thanks for posting this. This live album, released in 1982, it's pretty much the third album by this great band, since most songs (Red Patent Leather, On Fire & Eddie Cochran's Something Else in this clip) are not on their 2 studio albums. It also happens to be my favourite of all their albums. The opening act for this show was Television, with Richard Hell still on bass. Regarding the comments: 1) Steve Jones' Les Paul was nicked from Bowie's Spiders 2) Footage from this gig is in All Dolled Up

This is most likely 8 March 1975 with Jerry on drums (notice how Johnny is frequently playing "to" him, his friend) and Peter Jordan on bass. Johnny's shirt does not match a picture of him from the 7th. Arthur was playing with them on the 9th as well as the first three Hippodrome shows (although it appears you see Peter during the March 2nd show in All Dolled Up).
@meanmrmustard628 жыл бұрын
+Scott231TSM They had recently written several songs and were in the midst of trying to get away from playing the same set they had been doing for a long time. For many years there were rumors that there was a 3rd album in the can, but this was not true. With a few more originals they would have had enough for another album, but with other problems starting to cause a lot of trouble within the band it never happened. Too bad too!

It's not Nolan on Drums....you can hear Jerry playing these songs on the Columbia video....The woman who is saying it's Spider Sanders..is an insider from way back then.......were lucky she's Told us Nolan was ill....he lived around the corner from me at the time, l spoke to him on the street once...saying l ha d seen the gig . ( upper East side 76 st.)...he said..." what show did you see...l wasn't there for..."...He was the most talkative...Sylvain too...but Sylvain you never saw....bye.

Blackie replaced Johnny in the Dolls for a very short time in 1975. If he played any gigs with the Dolls at all it would have been very few in Florida '75. I have never seen a photo let alone any video of Blackie with the Dolls.
@Kopperafiel4 жыл бұрын
Blackie (aka Steve Duren) played the last 3 shows with the Dolls in Florida to keep their commitments. The band had to play the gigs to get enough money to get back to New York. They used a fill-in drummer too. Johnny and Jerry had enough of David and were junk sick since their dealer in Florida had got busted.
@Kopperafiel4 жыл бұрын
In Sylvain's book he said they teased Blackies hair up and told him not to look anyone in the eye. I guess from a distance he looked like Johnny. RIP Sylvain Sylvain.

I agree with you, and I play harmonica, but I can't remember any Iggy or Stooges song with harmonica on it (but I don't know albums post Blah Blah Blah that well).. which Iggy song were you thinking of? Anyway, better examples of R&R with harmonicas would be (apart from Led Zep, The Stones & John Lennon) The Who, Dylan, Bowie, Lovin' Spoonful, The Doors, The Kinks, The Them, and The Yadbirds, since - as far as R&R is concerned - The Yardies' Keith Relf was the best harmonica player of them all..

That looks like killer Kane to me. Although I've in recent years seen both guys in documentaries. They've both changed. Although this guy looks like Kane but seems more animated than Kane who used to be as stationary as a cardboard cutout. Cos he used to hold his breath at the start of a song until he was appeared drunk. He wasn't drunk he and needed rehab. All he need was a little bit of fresh air. Hahahaha 😊
@kidblonde15 жыл бұрын
That's not even The Stooges, Kill City came out as Iggy Pop & James Williamson, released long after it was done. Harmonica is not a typical trait of The Stooges' sound. They have celesta on Peneratrion, hence the celesta is a great part of their music? Tell me that when Scott Thurston was in the band he played harmonica live, if anything...
