I like how David and the guys went out of their way to give Arthur Kane some long deserved recognition. Crazy to think he would Die less than a month after this concert.

Thee most underrated band in the history of rock and roll...I actually had the privilege of a lifetime by seeing them in Williamsburg in 2009
@M_C7911 ай бұрын
How are they underrated? They're legends!
@r.g.97176 ай бұрын
@@M_C79People don’t know them though! Promise you if you played Personality Crisis in a room of today’s teenage ‘punks’, you’d be met with blank stares. Underrated that they aren’t being passed down to the next generation, plus Arthur and Syl hardly made a living off record sales.
@M_C796 ай бұрын
@@r.g.9717 True. I was reading "underrated" as in "great musicians". Which they weren't, even if they had a lot of flair

I just find this version so beautiful. David just has the power to instil every song with a certain world-weary melancholy and always has, and the guitar work is gorgeous.

I just love it that David still has the same charismatic personality as Mick Jagger. In this stage, it seems that being an old rocker just enhances that: you know that his youthful days are gone and yes, we see a man with wrinkles, but it just suits him and the music of the Dolls , better, I would say. Interesting to watch.

I agree about gratuitous cursing, but I am Latter Day Saint. The New York Dolls were just great guitarists and most musicians know it. The showmanship was just over the top and people like Kiss put their own spin on it.

I love the dolls and this song. I’m not claiming to be perfect by any means. But it kind gets on my nerves when people seem to make a point to constantly drop the F bomb on stage. It’s just weak

I'm with you but try listening to the ugliness called (c)Rap 'music'. These boys just like to curse a bit, they don't make it the whole point.
@kirstendieker87574 жыл бұрын
You mean "Fuck"? At least you concede they SEEM to make a point to "drop" it. This is how it APPEARS to you, in addition to weak. The latter is your own very valid opinion, derived no doubt from the fact you don't want to use it. As such, to throw it around would take concerted and conscious effort--in other words, A POINT--on your part to do so. But as one who adores the word and relishes its rhetorical sensibilities, I can guarantee that I neither make a point to drop it nor do so to compensate for any linguistic deficit. Everything that makes the word useful to me and necessary in certain cases results in Constitutional protection for its unrestricted inclusion in the American lexicon. Fuck YEAH!
