I miss seeing Johnny skate. His lines, his flexibility, in addition to powerful jumps that he made look easy. His artistry was simply breathtaking. You don't have to have an Olympic medal to be a champion, but he certainly deserved to be on the podium in 2006 and 2010 in my opinion.

I always enjoyed Jknny Weir performances on ice. He didn't just skage....he had ballet type story to tell.....and his costumes sometimes were unbelievable . I miss the American skaters of the past.... I can watch them again on you tube. Thamk you for posting this beautiful performance by Jonny . ⛸ 💐 ⛸

It's a total shame the scores they gave him ate the Vancouver Olympic Games :/ He skated so beautifully and flawlessly... It's definitely disgusting to see that judges now only give high scores to jump machines and overlook pure brilliantism and artistry. Now Johnny is ending his career without an Olympic medal and when he's gone, all fabulousness will be lost on the ice.

I love Johnny Weir. Just watched this again and did see it live as well. Yes, it brings tears still. The music, the artistry, the choreography, the costume, the execution was damn near flawless. He is also the very best at breaking down the skaters performance as an informative commentator...even better than Dick Buttons. His commentary is so intelligent in all aspects of the skate. He is the creme de la creme in the skating world.

Quite simply one of the most beautiful skaters of any gender. Truly the John Curry of his generation. Alas, Mr. Weir skated in an era that rewarded jumps over stroking, velvety edging & pure emotion. Had he skated even a decade or so earlier, he'd surely be one of the top skaters of that time.

+Elaine Snow So true; I was a ballerina for several years and Johnny's lyricism, gorgeous lines and extension are exquisite. He is my favorite figure skater of all time - so technically clean, brilliant and beautifully expressive. The winged motion of the arms at the end? Gorgeous.

Elaine Snow ;-) I remember my Russian teacher showing us how Plisetskaya created her beautifully supple "swan wings." It is very difficult to create that effect -- and Johnny does it perfectly. His intelligence conveys to his skating and he has amazing musicality. Definitely one of the most balletic male skaters of all time and so beautiful to watch.

I love watching him skate and I enjoy listening to him as an announcer for skaters. Some of the announcers (former skaters most of them) can only criticize, he is very kind and generous with his praise. He is very knowledgeable and is good at sharing his skating wisdom. Just love him!

i LOVE johnny weir... the commentator is right, he's so fluid in the knees! i always tense up in competitions. great performance. wow.
It breaks my heart that Johnny was so underscored in the 2010 Olympics. :\ The crowd booed for both his SP and LP scores, and he was the only skater to get a standing ovation. PS: Johnny Weir has not been invited to the Stars on Ice tour (the only figure skating tour in the U.S.) because they deemed him "not family-friendly." Tours are very important for skaters to earn a living. If you guys haven't signed the "include Johnny Weir" petition going around, please do so and spread the petition!
