Have to disagree. Personally I think the 2nd game is better. The combat is so much faster and more hard hitting while the fusion powers are awesome. I also really like how part 2 uses more of the obscure/lesser known heroes and villains in the story giving them more exposure. It's a nice change of pace from the normal heroes & villains that would be used. I love part 1 (honestly I love all 3 MUA's) but playing part 1 now is kind of a slog as it moves and plays at an absolute snails pace.

I really loved how this game was just the Civil War arc from the comics with its own spin. I played this game way before the MCU adaptation of civil war came out, and I remembered this game when trailers for the movie was coming out. I was always team iron man cus I sided with tony in the game, loved iron man right after watching the first movie in theaters, and I still thought Tony was right during Civil War (even though it was technically a Captain America movie). This story is honestly one of the best in marvel history and it makes me feel so nostalgic because I found it through this game.

I liked iron man 3 because tony wasnt his arrogant self like he was in iron man 1 and 2. He had just gone through that wormhole at the end of Avengers, and it fucked with his head. One interesting aspect is that this came out after the Iron Man movie. In the first one, Iron Man was a bit player and they focused on the core four of Thor, Wolverine, Spiderman, and Captain America cause those were the biggest names. But by then Iron Man had taken to the zeitgeist.

The Mad Titan I get that, but the movies never really bothered to explore the aftermath of the accords, which isn’t exactly the movie’s fault, but comics are just easier to do that with. You had the entire superhero population at stake in the comic, but in the movies, you just lost the two huge sides of the argument, just 3 years removed. Iron Man is dead, and Captain America is way too old to do anything involving the Accords now. I just personally liked the comic’s take on the story more.

I miss Marvel games based on actual comic storylines. Ultimate Alliance 2 was based on Secret War & Civil War. Absolutely awesome adaptions. If only the movies were more accurate.
