I remember taking my mom to see Steve and Eydie later in their career. They were great. We went around back to where the stars walked out to yhe car. Steve went right up to my Mom then went to the president of their fan club of 50 years. He knew her name and he really knew her. She was from Brooklyn. He was a class act. Eydie was in bad pain so she didn't mingle...bad back. Great show though.

I met Steve Lawrence at the crap tables at the Sands in 1968. My wife was a music major and something of a fan Eydie’s stylings. When I told him that he was genuinely impressed that we would come up from LA just to see them. He graciously arranged for my wife to get a chance to meet Eydie. It was a highlight for us and I got the impression they were thrilled to accommodate us. Truly nice folks

I saw Steve & Eydie in Vegas. Richard Pryor was their warm up act. After the show, I walked over to see the Lounge Act at Castaways. Richard Pryor was across the street with his girlfriend. I yelled hello to him & he waved back. Steve & Eydie were at their best. Great night. Love you forever Steve.

I saw Steve and Eydie in concert when they opened for Mr. Sinatra during his Golden Jubilee series in 1991 at the Rosemont Horizon. They were simply terrific, ageless, and always delivered on Mr. Carson's show. May Mr. Lawrence rest in peace. Thank-you for sharing.

I heard for the past 20 years he'd play golf in Vegas where he'd live and sing as he played. I'd love to have been there. I saw he and Eydie probably 20 times in concert, often in Vegas. They were just wonderful. So sad he's gone, but he left so much great music.

They were both great performers that made for a fun show. I loved these 90 minute episodes since they had time for 2 songs plus some good conversation.

some trivia...Steve and Eydie were cast members on the Tonight Show in 1954, when Steve Allen created the format of the show...Steve ''discovered" Steve and Eydie and featured them on his show for 3 years until NBC moved Steve Allen to prime time and Jack Paar took over the Tonight Show until 1962, when Johnny became the host

When I was a kid in the Sixties-Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gormé were a thing. Eydie Gormé passed away in 2013; Steve Lawrence passed away March 7th, 2024. RIP! What was so impressive about them was their living a real love story, two people in love with each other. In a place as cynical as Hollywood/Las Vegas, a true wonder.

I never got to see Steve & Eydie in person , but I loved watching them on TV shows like Carson for many years. Now they're both gone. They were great singers and entertainers. And it was clear they were good together ❤️. R.I.P. Steve Lawrence.

I met them in April 1969 ; They were performing at the Diplomat Hotel in Hallandale, Fl. My friends Uncle was the Sound & Lighting Director [ and knew them well]. They were charming & wanted to know everything about US! It was an incredible experience. We were given autographed pics- and I still have my framed pic after 55 years. RIP you loving souls; I've never forgotten you- or that wonderful experience.

Edie Gorme put out a solo album called "Amor", with a backing group called the Trio Los Panchos. My late father used to play it nonstop and it would soar throughout our house. I still love that album, she had an amazing voice.

I first heard, their song, 'Hallelujah' during this broadcast back in 1976. Loved their performance of it ever since. Also, got to hear it live from concerts they did that I attended.

@@anairenemartinez165 I believe everything changed with the Jerry Springer show. It was that show that brought vulgar behavior to our homes, and eventually made it acceptable. Since television copy one another, other like shows appeared. After so many decades we have become numb to that crass, tasteless conduct that essentially anything goes.
