He knew the famous from a kid in the midwest. Was xharming and once he was in 6 7 years he knew his guests. His best was being able to make common folj be at ease. They were nervous and he would just use his country small town upbrining use a example to let these people feel at ease. His interview with the 93yr old Illionois farmer is just down to earth.

My husband,was from Brooklyn..I am from Georgia ..Plus my husband Jewish..Of course being southern.We add three or four extra vowels.And our world are long.Our friends,loved to be with us.I love him so much,he passed away in 2004..We had the most fun..Love this show!

Because it wasn’t funny. For the most part Steve Martin has never been funny. He’s a damn decent actor and musician, but his comedic talent leaves a lot to be desired.

Steve Martin is absurdity. He is the anti-joke. He's The Goonies & Monty Python rolled into Turtle Boy. Hell if he failed on the Tonight Show he'd have made a fine rag picker behind the supermarket. If you don't get it, that's the way he wants it! Seriously, can you imagine going on Carson's Tonight Show with nothing but 4 loaner dogs and a deck of cards? That's the grift!
