The Battle of Jangsari of the second installment of the Operation Chromite trilogy (although it's hard to find much western reporting on this trilogy). First Installment - Operation Chromite Second Installment - The Battle of Jangsari Third Installment - Unreleased and unreported. Each of the films has a known Hollywood actor too to entice non-Korean viewers. Megan Fox in The Battle of Jangsari and Liam Neeson as Douglas MacArthur in Operation Chromite.

You posted a video of the Chinese war film Assembly a couple of years ago, but I think its time you gave it a proper review. I also want to mention my favourite scene, is when the Chinese troops in South Korean disguises were forced to interact with American troops, which was a great way to build tension in a war film without direct combat.

Great review as ever....But, what was the cat thinking about? was it that time during the Great Mouse War, when it lost some freinds\family. Or was it, "dam Johnny is doing more war movies, . TSK. where is my food":)

Another Korean War film you'd find interesting is Balgan Mahura aka The Red Scarf. Made in the 1960s, it focuses on ROKAF pilots flying air defense and ground attack missions during the war. They are anachronistically piloting F-86 Sabres, which weren't flown by the Koreans until after the cease fire, but it's hard to complain due to the beautiful aerial photography, showcasing the Sabre even better than The Hunters did.

With all that’s happened in Korea this week, this video came just in time 😆

Yeah, as a Korean, I really dislike the excessive melodrama that veers straight into sappy and corny territory. It is an unfortunately all too common cliche in Korean cinema. Especially with Korean war flicks. And yes, the presence of the Huey helicopter is just mind numbing and face palm worthy haha
@huyhoangviet596628 күн бұрын
There was a huey in this movie?also the rubber boats felt too modern for any post ww2 or korean war era movies.
@lucinae851227 күн бұрын
Did Taegukgi have an influence on what Korean war movies try to depict, or did it just come out before it became overused?
@FGH9G27 күн бұрын
@@huyhoangviet5966 Yeah, at 4:02 in the video, there's a UH-1 helicopter, as Johnny points out. But if you think that Korean historical movie anachronism is bad, just see the modern Boeing 747 with MODERN Air France livery in the movie 'Ode to my Father,' in a scene that takes place in the early 60s! So egregious! LOL
@FGH9G27 күн бұрын
@@lucinae8512 I'm not sure which came first. Korean cinema in general goes heavy on the melodrama, but Taegukgi in general paved the way for many more Korean War movies in Korean cinema, mainly because of how critically and financially successful it was. But yes, that movie REALLLLY amped up the melodrama to the point of fatigue haha

Only when you get a film about students do you get an accurate age group. Kind of…. Most war films have actors who are too old.

Really can say good review also noticed some guns in this video you are familiar with and some you didn't get into like the Maxim PM 1910 in this I'm sure it is could look into that and also may look into this Axis German rifle the Mauser Kar 98K which also can be another candidate and for helicopters in that conflict could look into this and maybe do videos about them such as the Bell H-13 Sioux also said to have had made famous in the MASH series and movie about that used for medical duties there anyway check that out as well and could get videos about that.
