Gene Vincent & Eddie Cochran. What a combination. The more I listen to music like this, and the music America did back in the 1950's, I am convinced that much of America's future lies in it's past!

I used to think these guys were just an 80's novelty act until I heard all their stuff. This has to be their best cut. I love all those great guitar riffs from all those great songs. The Cats prove that you don't need technology to create great rock n' roll.

In a better world, this would never been a huge hit. Always a favorite of mine by the Cats.

This is one of their more obscure B-sides. The title refers to 50s rockers Gene “Be Bop-a-Lula” Vincent and Eddie “Summertime Blues” Cochran. These were the guys Brian patterned his 3-minute riff-based verse-and chorus songs after. Grease back your hair and give it a listen. I dare you not to dance!

I see Eddies memorial every day... A young man taken from us , way too early, on a downhill bend on Rowden Hill in Chippenham, Wilts, UK. 1960... The fans do him proud with a lovely monument and still fresh flowers mostly every day... He was, and is, loved...

You do realize essentially all the jazz and orchestral folk thought EXACTLY what you think about pop music today about rock and roll in the 40's & 50's?
