That is awesome, that Toronto has those walking and bike lanes. I am from Massachusetts and they don't have anything like this. I really enjoy watching streams like this.

Thanks for the journey down the memory lane. I used to live in cork town and I would take that trail every chance I've got. I just wish they had not closed the lower part.

Thank you, Johnny. when I trained for the 2019 Toronto Waterfront Marathon, I did a long run along with Don Valley trails on one sunny weekend. Planned for 24 km or so, but my phone battery died when I hit 20 km, so I couldn't navigate and eventually lost my way. when I finally managed to run back to my home exhausted (almost dying), I did a sum on Google map and found I totally run 35 + km...

That's one of my favorite rides. Once they fix the damn construction you can continue on east to the beaches or Tommy Thompson park or west along the Lakeshore....one day. Actally from where you started the stream there is a secret way to the don trail you had it in the shot for a second at the beginning of the video, you walk down the sidewalk a 100m and in front of an apartment building the trail will start. There is a small flight of stairs to go down but there is a bike tire ramp on it so you can roll your bike down, a small bridge and it dumps you in the parking lot with the big white stone bridge at the end of it and you're good to go.

Love this ride, but I go the opposite direction since I live in the west end. My ride starts on the Martin Goodman trail at the Humber river, through Harbourfront, then connect to the Don Valley trail, continue northwest to E.T Seton park (or sometimes all the way to Sunnybrook Park/Edwards Gardens) then turn around. First learned of this system as a kid where I started riding trails in Taylor Creek Park.

I used to love going on the bike trails and just ride. I would ride for hours and then all of a sudden it seems more and more people were walking and walking the pets getting into the way of serious bike riding people. I got so tired of the foot traffic I ended up parking my bikes and not until last year after converting one of my bikes into an e-bike I had to re-learn riding on regular roads safely. So far so good I get the respect from vehicle motorist so I am safe riding on the roads.. No more bike trails for me because it is way to much foot traffic

So jealous Toronto has trails like this while Sudbury says it has no room. I must have seen 3 roads that were converted from 2 to 1 lane and the 1 was enough for bikes and people walking in this video.

about the lady who wanted her face blurred , perhaps she didn't want some dangerous person she knew to know her general whereabouts . Don't just assume that her request is frivolous . You had a duty , not just a courtesy to remove it or blur it
@JohnnyStrides11 ай бұрын
No duty at all to remove if, if you're in public you're NOT entitled to tell others how to handle their cameras or what they post on social media. The law (and common sense) is on my side.
@edwardmacnab35411 ай бұрын
@@JohnnyStrides common sense to me would be that there might be a good reason why somebody doesn't want their image tied to a location . I don't join facebook for just such reasoning . How did she even notice her face in your video is a good warning enough for me . Get off your high horse . The law sometimes is not a good law .
@JoveCana6 ай бұрын
@@edwardmacnab354 this is a good learning opportunity for you: there is *no* expectation of privacy in public spaces, and common law supports this. This is the reasoning why no permission is required for security cameras in public spaces. It isn't even mandatory to provide notice that an area is filmed. There is only some recourse where there is a "reasonable" expecation of privacy, like in change rooms, ubers and taxis etc. If you don't like the laws, perhaps contact your MP.
@edwardmacnab3546 ай бұрын
@@JoveCana so you didn't read my comment . Maybe private citizens be more respectful of other private citizens instead of trying to lawyer the point or somebodies going to take the law into their own hands eventually
@JoveCana6 ай бұрын
@@edwardmacnab354 no, I did read it. And your comment is presumptuous and objectively wrong. You presumed that someone was being disrespectful in the email/IG interaction (which by the way, is none of your business), and you're objectively wrong that there is a duty to edit someone's likeness out of footage of a public space, nor even a duty to seek approval for taking the footage in the first place. And, I should mention, your comment is irresponsible and inflammatory too. If you're suggesting that someone's bruised feelings is good justification for "taking the law into their own hands" then YOU are part of the problem too. Again.... this is a good learning opportunity for you. Take it.
