I only found your channel within the past few weeks after trying to find a genuine retro gaming channel that had a laid back regular down to earth quality and I happened upon your channel. I have binge watched alot of your videos (I'm sure you don't mind) and you have some interesting content. This was another good video... Keep up the good work and quality content.

I had a 7800 as a kid. I didn't have a lot of 7800 specific games, but I had a lot of memories of it.

I wish it showed the original 7800 bootup screen with the logo. It wqs so iconic. That's part of the nostalgia
@mindthreatxАй бұрын
honestly I feel it's inexcusable that they didn't have that, especially seeing as how the load times are like 15 seconds.

Very excited for this package, waiting on pins and needles for my pre-order. The wireless gamepad is a smart move, and that Bentley game looks awesome. I actually still have my 7800 from 1986 and play it all the time, but I thought what the heck and ordered it anyway. I’m such an Atari simp 😁

The OG Atari 7800 had the D pad or the original controllers. I have an OG with both. The D pad was released later and the 7800 launched in Europe with it. It has the small joystick on the D pad.

I have been following Atari very closely since they released their Atari 50 compilation. I like seeing these "Plus" versions of their consoles getting a second chance and introducing classic (and newer) games to generations who probably didn't grow up playing Atari consoles or computers. Now, if only Atari would bring back their ST computer...

Good video! Nice! That VIP edition is quite nice to have! Been thinking of picking the Atari 7800+ system! Always been a fan of the Atari!

Word of advice. As with any electronic hardware, it's best to power down your console before swapping cartridges' to avoid the possibility of arcing between the contacts which can damage the games or your system. Yes, even in these high tech days, the laws of electricity (Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, and the power law) have not changed.

Lol, sounds like you never fried the 2600 . Frying the 2600 was a real thing back in the day .
@XV250Ай бұрын
I have seen Ben from Plaion post on AtariAge that the 2600+ was deliberately designed to handle hot-swapping carts. That said, I'm old-school and turn the console off when swapping carts, just out of an abundance of caution.

Fun facts: Those are the traditional joysticks for every 7800 model except for the US. The US got those crappy joysticks that nobody wants.. Also every model of the 7800 came with Asteroids Deluxe built in so the PAL physical Asteroids Deluxe is actually pretty hard to find seeing as everyone already had it.. Except again for the US model didn't come with any built in game so the physical Asteroids Deluxe in NTSC was the only choice. . . Sadly this 7800+ and th 2600+ both dont support everdrives so if you want to use your everdrives you'll need to use real hardware consoles.. Which is exactly why I picked up an OG 7800 just the other day. First time in my life owning one or using one so I'm pretty excited to get it in the mail. The OG woody 6 switcher 2600 lite will be so pleased to have its big brother in the family. REally looking for to playing the newly released Rikki & Vikki which pushes the 7800 to its limits for what its capable of. You'd be excused for thinking its a NES game to be honest.
@PG-gs5vbАй бұрын
Is there a new batch of of Rikki & Vikki?
@ironmaiden5658Ай бұрын
@@PG-gs5vb It comes as a digital download ROM to play on the everdrive. Not sure about physical releases. I just bought the 7800 everdrive from Stone Age Gamer and they're offering the Rikki & Vikki ROM free with every purchase.

How are you controlling this game? I have two wireless GamePads for my 7800+, and I've tested both of them. The d-pad makes Bentley walk and jump, but the 1 and 2 buttons do *nothing*. They don't make him run, jump, or throw crystals. They'd might as well just not even be there at all. I am not getting it.

Anyone have a good waybto purchase Atari in Canada? Half the items are US exclusive (why?) and Amazon isnt a reliable source for video games in my experience. Thanks in advance.
@XV250Ай бұрын
I have bought quite a few Atari items from Amazon Canada: 2600+, Gamestation Pro, 400 Mini, several carts, etc. I've had no issues whatsoever.
@williambienz8238Ай бұрын
@XV250 Thanks. I need another source. I have no luck from my local amazon outlet. Video games dont arrive half the time. I ordered an atari iff there and it arrived broken. I'm done with anything video game related from there.
