Look in your TV options for something related to overscan if you want to see the whole image! Your borders are cut. :)

im trying to proceed to disc 2 ff7. i followed your directions all the way to the end, everything is right in until the final step of choosing disk 2. after i choose ff7 disc 2 under roms it brings me to an additionl screen where i must choose between the ff7 disc 2 bin or cue file. no matter which i choose it resets to the disc 2 load screen rather than jumping right into the content of disc 2 like in the video. im still very new to this so my apologies if this is at all unclear. any help would be appreciated.

Aaron Sterchi i had to copy the save file from disc one and place it on disc 2 on my pc. Make sure you modify the save file so it can be read by disc 2. Then reset my box and it worked

Yeah, my own fault for using a $4 gas station USB -- I need to find a better one. I still need to figure out why I can't load new roms anymore. Nothing I've tried works.

John Riggs: RIGG'd Games have you tried using sftp to transfer the files from a computer? Which theme are you using? How big is the sd card? What file system is the USB (if transferring that way) using?

John Riggs: RIGG'd Games Take a standard USB Flashdrive & format it to Fat32 then place a folder named "retropie" inside (without the quotes). Boot up the pi with the flashdrive inserted into one of the USB slots and give it 5 or so minutes then pull it out. it should have created folders within the retropie folder where you can place your roms! Place the ROMs, insert the flash drive back into the pi and give it another 5-10 minutes depending on how many ROMS you are transferring, restart emulation station and you should be good (: If you have any more questions feel free to ask!

You need to use one that plugs into the wall that is 5V 2.5 amps. Mine would flicker every now and then until i got one with enough juice.

For those who don't see the roms appear... Rename your SRM file to say disc 2 instead of disc one. I made a copy of it and put it in a new folder I created on my laptop called PSX save files. Then, I transferred the newly named file back to my raspberry pi psx emulator. Worked as soon as I booted game and clicked continue

But they're on there, I've been playing them! I am trying to switch from one disc to another, I have both in the same folder. so heres my issue. I have 3 disc psone rpg and when I downloaded the roms it came with a cue.bin and track 1 & 2 per disc. For whatever reason the game does not work unless I drop the cue, track 1 and track 1 into the file of whatever disk I want to play. So when I go to file and select disk 2 i have 2 options. Disk 2 cue. file, disk 2 track 1 or track 2. How do get my files to just be the one like you have yours?

For me it is telling me to use a core at 2:20 and then it is booting the hole PSX again so I had to change the name for the Save file ... any suggestions? I save and Play from a USB-Stick and I have .img files without a corresponding .cue and the Game Cd I try to change is Legend of Dragoon

awesome! so in the newer retropie you still go to disk control then it now says eject disk and load. they changed the verbiage to make it even simpler. Just got to Xenogears disk 2 ;). Oh, and use the .bin file if you have .bin/.cue

I can follow your steps up through selecting the Rom, but when i select the Cue file for disc 2 it states BACK SUGGESTED CORES /HOME/PI/.CONFIG/RETRO, on next line >PCSX-ReARMed (CORE) When i select this it just boots the second disc and there is no save data. Good tutorial and everything, but when i select "Disk image append" and navigate to my PSX folder, it shows no items to load. I swear, between mame ruining my retroarch hotkeys, cheats not working, and the damn power button tutorials being out of date, I assume this damn raspberry pi is out to make my life as complicated as possible.

Someone once mentioned you have to do something to remove filter to extensions or some vague bs. I'm having the same issue.

You need to go into the setting portion of the Retroarch menu and look for something that says " Filter unknown file extensions" and it should be toggled "ON" you need to change that to "OFF" and all the file types should show up. I had this same problem just the other day.

Well this is helpful because i own the original disc's for SD Gundam G Generation F and well you have to load up the first disc every time which is a pain in the ass.

considering the price of SD memory cards (get class 10, it's the fastest and it will say it right on the package) you could get a 32 or 64 gig for not that much money and load it to the gills with games. like,, the entire library of everything up to the 32 bit era

@@papaes I finally got this to work by setting and using hotkeys in Retroarch to open and close the disc drive, and next disc, previous disc buttons then using them when it asks for disc 2 instead of trying to do it in the quick menu

i never could get my Pi to recognize disc 2 through the emulator window. i actually had to copy the .srm file and change the name to disc 2 from one. and it loaded fine. it may have been due to the fact that i had all my roms reading from an external hard drive. hopefully this will help with anyone having trouble.

Once you've navigated to the path he listed under "configs/psx/retroarch.cfg", open it with a text editor or notepad and add the line he listed as shown below: # Settings made here will only override settings in the global retroarch.cfg if placed above the #include line input_remapping_directory = "/opt/retropie/configs/psx/" input_player1_joypad_index = "1" rgui_browser_directory = /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx/ #include "/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg" This is how my retroarch.cfg looks like and it works for me. @@danimaster6643 the saved file located in the same place as the rom, the game usually asks you at the end if you want to save before disk change. Do so, then locate saved file and just change the name of it to the same name as the disk. leaving file extensions the same of course. Then you just load disk 2 and select your saved game.

get a slim ps3 and downgrade it to 3.55, then load the hacked firmware. you should be able to run disk image PS1 games or just straight up burnt copies of it. same with MAME

On PS1 games, .bin files will not appear on your menu, you will need to create a .cue file for each game. Luckily, theres an app for that: github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Playstation-1
