I remember back when NSW gave it to Qld more often than not, the qlders where left behind due to game fitness. So now the game comes down to the last 10 minutes, even if Qld is behind they may surprise with a frightening finish.

So pleased Madge is putting his own stamp on this year's team, taking them away from Coogee and all that nonsense Fitler went on with bare foot and yoga and boom boxes. I do hope NSW have a win this year to prove Fitler was a failure but mostly to give Joey a win he is just so passionate, also love the way he said such good things about Billy and his admiration and acknowledgement that Billy is a fine man.

Why NSW failed under Freddy/Joey (as a Blues fan) - the coaching staff don't have any robust processes and just wing it. When the going gets tough, every player needs to be on the same page as to what they need to do as a team, not as individuals winging it. Why is Billy Slater bringing notes and being prepared such a surprising thing? He's a professional. That attitude will be filtered down to his players who will be exactly on the same page when a big play needs to happen because they're literally written down the steps needed to give them the best opportunity to execute.

I agree with Joey BUT home grown is an Huge advantage. If blues Get to a lead and defend it, they can beat QLD in a close game. This weekend has show , upsets in every game.

Stop undermining the NSW side Joey! The side has been picked, get behind them instead of talking about who should be there. Talking about parachuting in Moses…..hasn’t played for months! Get behind Nicho, he deserves his chance! If he fails, look at it then but give the guy a go. He wasn’t the only player that missed the tackle on Munster, Cleary did as well and those two players won’t be the last players to miss tackles on him. If NSW were good enough they would have won, missed tackle or not. History shows they were not good enough so get over that play. Heck I’m not the biggest Nicho fan but the least we can do is give him a chance, he has earned it.

I think it's important for Madge to back Nicho, he's done it so far with the calf issue being present. Let him stand on his own two feet and have the opportunity to succeed. If Nicho says he's ready, back him - win or lose. To do the opposite will shatter Hynes and sets a bad precedent for the new coach. Moses in for game 2 and 3 if we need him.

Best of the best, so there’s no errors? Lomax is leading nrl in errors, him, Walsh, Holmes and Hunt are in the top 5 for handling errors and errors. Jurbo leading is Nrl in ruck infringements, Robson 2nd in Penalties

joeys right the attack for nsw is worrysome or lack of compared to qld. defence looks solid so should be a close scoring game. teddy should've been fb to create something out of nothing, constant threat and flair unlike edwards. hynes shouldn't have a spot should be burton or keary. moses when he's fit. bradmen should've been in over suaali

Edwards is fitter and a better defender than Teddy. When Maroons put their foot down in the final 15 mins, hoping we're gassed, Edwards will be the most influential player on the field.

Drink everytime he says; ‘Hitting that sweet spot in his career’ ‘Rock hard fit’ ‘Running 5/8’ ‘A good half can kick his team out of trouble’ ‘How does a half react when his forwards are on the backfoot’ ‘Back in my day we used to have to walk to origin training 5 miles through the snow with no shows on cause we didn’t have shoes back then’ ‘Something something mobile phones’ All seriousness though, how’s how he was the best player of his time and he’s questions am I good enough before playing. Crazy.

A lot of the very best players are excluded from origin because of the convoluted selection criteria and other players can play against the state they were born in?

How come NSW always have players that either weren't born here, don't have an Aussie accent & choose to play for a Pacific Island nation? Rugby League has the worst eligibility rules in world sport, soccer being a close second.
