Vagabond Snr is a 150% scale up of Bill Winter’s 1945/81 design. Wingspan increased from 75” to 112”. Power is an Emax brushless motor producing 500 Watts on a 3 cell lipo. Covering is doped chiffon over mylar. Once the model is fully trimmed, more detail will be posted soon in the build log for the smaller Vagabond here www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2770756-TBD-The-Vagabond-a-Bill-Winter-s-design/page3

Not the best day for a maiden, quite breezy. But model handled it well.

Why does it Yaw so much ?

If by yaw you really mean rolling - the design had a reputation of dutch rolling. I increased the fin area and thickness to minimise this but there is still a bit of rolling - some of which was down to the windy conditions the maiden flight was made in. The Vagabond behaves much better in lighter winds and someday I might manage to get another video showing this.

Nice but it Very Woberly

The Vagabond has a very nice sedate glide under light wind conditions. the gusty windy conditions on the early morning of the maiden flight ruled out anu prolonged glides. See Mick's video of my original sized Vagabond to see the glide
