I've had some great experiences in this Blind! It is my first blind I've ever hunted out of. I especially love it in Rifle Season, but it has performed surprisingly well during bow season as well!

I recently purchased a Muddy Bull XL as I'm a bowhunter. I really like the blind but had to make some changes to satisfy my needs. I thought the floor of the blind was very poor, I added 3/4" plywood to the floor. Glued and screwed the floor for quietness and stability. After that I siliconed the floor in the event moisture got into the building. The roof had 1" play all around. I added spray foam insulation around the outside and than after it dried, I cut off the excess foam and again sealed it to prevent flies and other insects nesting. The roof is now solid and should now squeak even in very windy conditions. The windows are great but instead of using the drapes I decided to utilize tinting. The tinting works well as it allows you to see out and the wildlife have trouble seeing in. If a person wants to see out of the tint window you can cut holes or boxes as you like after installed. I pre-cut the tint so that I can see above the top of every window. I ran out of time as hunting season has already begun, painting the base will be on next years agenda. I had time to paint my camo design on the outside of the building. The final touches was pounding treated fence posts beside the legs. I than utilized 1/4"cable and secured it back down to the base of posts with a turnbuckle in-between. The cable fits into a groove I cut into the posts with a chain saw. The cable is further secured with a 2" fencing staple on two side to prevent it from sliding up or coming out of the groove. Its now rock solid and the winds won't budge it.

Sounds like your blind was built more poorly than mine. I just assembled the base & put the blind on top. No problems so far! Best of luck with your Bull XL! I really like the tinting idea!

I have the Banks Stump 4's. I love em but looking at Muddy because a buddy is a dealer and I can get a discount. It's hard to get something else other than a banks though. It's a sound chamber as nothing can hear you...the windows are nice, EASY to put up. I think longevity wise, the Banks can't be beat simply because there is no wood besides the floor. Idunno, good video, thanks.

Still loving my Muddy, but the Banks looks good too. I really like the alternating vertical & horizontal windows on the Muddy though. Got a nice 10-point out of the Muddy last night! Good luck with your season.

I have two muddy blinds ,bull blinds and I also agree that the bottoms need to be covered or painted so my second one I painted before I put the stand together .that seems to be holding up pretty good, but I still think that they need to do some protection on that bottom as far as the heat goes I guess my experience is I've got one with a 20 lb cylinder on it and then one I just use the bottles that it came with, those seem to work really well, the small bottles and less hassle.

If I were to buy another one, I’d definitely paint the bottom. That being said - while I would prefer my current Blind floor was painted, it seems to be holding up just fine. Looks essentially new looking up at the bottom.

Nice - do your windows slide up or hinge up? What is the floor of your Redneck made of?

@@johnsangl the windows hinge up and have rope pulls. The floor as well as the whole thing is fiberglass. Windows have a nice tint.

I have 3 different model blinds from Sportsman’s Condo. They are made of one piece plastic. It seems they melt two half’s together into one complete blind. They come with a metal frame that you insert your own 4x4 post into for legs. The bottom is plastic also. There’s zero insulation, the windows can hinge inward or outward depending on model. Absolutely no water and minimal bugs get in. (Small jumping spiders and moths are the only sneaky ones that do make it in) I’ve checked out all other blinds, these are the only ones I could afford. The biggest one cost $1600. The propane heater tank is tricky. I’ve used one in a duck blind here in PA and it froze as I used it. I think the tank would need to be inside the blind to keep it warm. No mounting them on a shelf outside because of our weather. I do have videos of the blinds if you want to see them.

Nice Muddy blind, I like mine too, also fyi I'd try a Banks Stump Blind, well made and 1 piece construction, no leakage. I have 4 of them. Recommend Stump 4 for family use, has more room for all, also get their insulation kit, and curtains, comes with thick foam floor mat, very sound proof. They just came out with even larger blind, called Seqowa (sp) ? Good hunting to you all!

You like the Stump better than the Muddy?

Well, I have to say I like the Banks blinds better. I have a leak going on in my Muddy Blind by the door top seal. Contacted Muddy people (GSM Group who owns them now) and they stated they didn't know what to do to fix it other than returning whole unit, at my cost for shipping (didn't want to do that due to setup in the woods on a tower), never had that issue with Banks personnel. Of course never had leakage with Banks due to solid construction and great seals everywhere., however when I had any issues or broken parts they sent them to me ASAP at no charge for part or shipping. Nothing big like missing part of Banks feeder, or had a cracked window from shipping and they immediately sent me a new one for my Stump 3 Phantom blind. They are superb to deal with, and I think their product is a better made one overall. Also, they are family owned, not one owned by a Corporation, big difference in dealing with their service personnel, which is a small group and you get to know them by name personally real quick if you call them (eg...same people) ....superb people to deal with! Banks Blinds therefore gets my nod of approval. Hope this helps. @@johnsangl

I am interested how the curtains were installed inside the blind & the ‘peep’ one for making the inside movement undetectable from outside. Very very clever & well thought out. Apparently someone has a talented seamstress. Out of curiosity was it expensive? Is it all attached to wall w Velcro?

@@johnsangl there are ways to do that but i usually just carry one up to the stand right before deer season and change when needed.lasts me half to sometimes all season

Get a 20 ft hose sit the 20 pound bottle on the ground just throw a old sleeping bag you don't care about over to keep the tank from freezing up works like a champ
