hey dude. i have a doubt with the 5th one. Question value of k for one solution and acc to the table, the coeff of x should be unequal but the answer says otherwise

@@RennaisanceSoul You might be looking at the old version. Download it again and it should say no solution.

7:45 ur wrong, u can enter it into desmos as two seperate equations, bx-4(3+2x) and y=-12, then use the slider function on b to until they completely overlap

Hey John, just wanted to clarify something, you can actually use Desmos with the second question, you just have to put the other side of the question in y. So it's like bx-4(3+2x) and y=12, and then use the slider for b, however, I do find your method to be faster and more efficient for this specific question, thank you for the video.
@JohnSAT8 күн бұрын
You're correct. Desmos is prob slightly faster for the 2nd type, but DESMOS doesn't always work (time consuming on the 3rd example & doesn't work on 4th). However, the matching rule applies to every variation this question type, and my logic is to sacrifice a few seconds for simplicity and reliability. Looking to keep things simple and less stuff to memorize for students. Appreciate you pointing it out man.

@@JohnSAT idk i mightve gotten lucky but i genuinely did question 4 in 30 seconds with desmos, but I can see if I didn't realize 2 for b creates the same slopes I would've been cooked
@imranhamman87858 күн бұрын
Demos didn't work cuz you didn't break the equation... bx-4(3+2x) = y ....(1) -12 = y ......(2) It will work this way and for the more complicated equation do this 18x+27/9 -a/12 =y {a0} and then use the sliders to get the value... I would like to know your feedback :) thank you!

Hey! I’m new to desmos, could you please elaborate this?
Ohh, for the last question I didn't think about just assuming that b=2 since it's the only way infinite solutions can occur. Thanks for the video!

Hey! I really appreciate the way you teach as your explanation is quite easy to understand but I have a request. Kindly remove background music as it was kind of distracting during the lecture because of which I had to rewind a few times to understand the concept. In general I really like your videos!!!

Hello! For the last question I tried it out before the videos showed how to by plugging in random numbers that would match the requirements a0. And by plugging in a=-1 and b=2 coincidentally I got 72x=72x. Doesnt that mean that a=-1 is also valid? Or what am I doing wrong?? I will be ofc employing the method from this video from now on but I would like to know why -1 isnt valid

Hey John! I wanted to ask that when we are using SOHCATOA, and there's one trig function (eg tanB= x/y), when will we know how to use it as a ratio or when to use it as the exact lengths. I hope I am making sense. Thank you.
@nirwanneupane4278 күн бұрын
hey, regarding your practice pdf, on question 7, no solution requires the x to match, but the numbers to not. option A and D both have x values that match but the numbers dont. however the answer key states A (1/17+x=x-1/17) to be the correct answer. isnt D correct as well? (D: 3/17+x=3/14+x)
@HayaFatima-rd9qj7 күн бұрын
Hi! Option D is 3/17+x = x+ 3/17 in which both the variable and number is the same, so it has infinite number of solutions.
@nirwanneupane4277 күн бұрын
@HayaFatima-rd9qj check again D has different # values 3/17 and 3/14. Mustve been a mistake during question making nvm

Both 1 and 2 can be solved with desmos but this will be tricky for complex fraction. It's better to use Johns actual method which is also very fast. Thanks
