Grief is important. If you need it... take the time. Two Trains by John Schneider

I had no concept of how appropriate this song would be in 2020 for those who have lost loved ones so tragically and so suddenly. Grief is a very important part of the healing process. Please take the time, if your situation finds you need it, to grieve for those who gone on ahead of you.
Only people who have lost someone know the feeling. This song is absolutely transparent with it’s ability to get into the heart and soul of such a loss.

So glad you all are loving this song. It has touched my soul from the very beginning. Now... For the ones who apparently didn't like it and who get off on giving this new music a "thumbs down." If you are going to have the balls to give a song like this a thumbs down then at least muster up the integrity to leave a comment as to why you didn't like it so I can get better and know who you are.

John Schneider if someone dislikes this, they either have no heart or maybe actually had their heart wripped out in loss. it could be unbearable. There I go with my looking for the best in people. Sheri

John, to heck with the nay-sayers! You know it's great and so do your real fans! I rank this right up there with Hag's 'Misery & Gin' - it's that same old story, same old song and dance but with a new spin and the duet dynamic that brings it all to a whole new level. I know Merle himself would give this a big thumbs up! Keep it up John, please don't stop - you are really taking this era of your career out beyond the stars! :)

This is so beautiful, and perfect. Grief is a funny thing. It can tear you apart, and test the fiber of your being. Some don't make it, some barely do, but people like you use it for blessing others and holding a hand out to help others through it as well. That's what a healer does. You heal people with your music, and movies, with your merchandise and gatherings and messages. You choose to see the silver lining and let others know that we can all get through it. She is always with you, in your heart, in memories and in the music. Thank you for being you. I appreciate you

This song has so much in it. Whether you have lost your partner to death or a broken relationship you weren't ready to leave, this songs speaks to that place in your soul where you try to go on, but so much is still hanging there from that former relationship. After a romantic loss, so many things trigger memories and those old feelings especially when you try to start a new relationship. Even if you logically know you can't go back to that old relationship, you can't fully go forward either because you aren't yet emotionally available. Two trains on a gravel road, just searching for the tracks; going through the motions, but not hitting stride...yet. Tania Hancheroff's voice brings out that velvety, southern sorrow that the lyrics need to come to life and round out the duet. (John's voice touches my soul with his tonal inflections and use of just the right amount of vibrato to convey the emotion he wants you to feel. Although I go back to the first 1981 album as a music fan, his now mature voice and understanding of music as a force to touch your soul makes the new songs absolutely breathtaking. I am loving the Odyssey project and so glad he came back to music. Middle age brings us back around to what matters most to us-mine was music, too.)

Sweet song! My John and I met just like this on Halloween in ‘98. We were both reeling from losses that would change us forever. Our lives, as we’d eventually find out, are so much alike for two people that seem to be polar opposites. Some folks know about his “past” and think I was “hoodwinked” into a bad situation. What folks see in 5 minutes is only a glimpse of a man, or woman. It takes decades to get to know the core of another. John and I are exactly alike at the heart of it all. We only want peace, joy, and love like everybody else. 💜💑

Beautiful Duo Voices for this Beautiful song! Although your music seems it's more about losing a spouse, or loving partner, I can relate to it at a Personal level, losing my closest Brother, who was ALWAYS there for me, and ALWAYS had my back. My brother took his own life, and it was I, who discovered him that way. My parents, to this day, don't talk about that day, nor do they reminisce about him - too painful. Your song reflects my relationship with my parents, and your song brings comfort to my ever breaking heart and everlasting image of that day. Thank you both, for your Heart and Soul healing music.
