I don't believe a WORD YOU SAY! Fabz told me so. You have certifications & a devoted following. He on the other hand has many videos blasting some guy named "Johnny Nitro" and preaches you DON'T need compression in a 2-stroke. Because it KILLS the saw! I'm inclined to believe and trust a person with less experience & is a blowhard, than yourself. My advice GET ON HIS LEVEL.... ROOKIE!. (Remember to laugh after reading this 😂)

I don't mean ton stoke the fires or start an onslaught of drama. I'm glad you decided to focus on your own lane and have fun with your channel as a learning tool for others. The saw community is VERY finicky about things. Opinions & Assholes are one in the same..... some are dirty & full of shit, while others are fine enough to share the same toilet. Get what sayin'. Stay rowdy, Stay building!

Great video as always! The cussing and small engines are tied together. One day the preacher was working on a lawnmower when a little boy walked up to see what he was doing.After several pulls it still wouldn’t crank.The little boy told the preacher “you have to cuss it to get it to crank”. The preacher replied “Son you don’t understand I am a man of God ,I don’t cuss.” The little boy replied” Keep working on it ,You will!” 😁

Pressure/ vac test is a must. There are so called saw builder on KZbin that don’t even test after assembly. And they fight and fight a bad running saw and would found the problem in 5-10 min. Pressure/vac test is like the 3rd or 4th thing on the STIHL check list. One day I hope to get one of you’re 500i or 462 in my hands.

Just rebuilt an 039 the other day and as always I pressure tested it before I completely reassembled it. Good thing too because the new cylinder had a crack that went completely through. Took forever to find that leak.

Great Video. I just checked my 560 for air leak and it is leaking right between the bearing and crankshaft. How can i seal it?
@johnscustomsaws2 жыл бұрын
I always hate to say anything without seeing it... comes with experience shooting myself in the foot trying to help 🤦♂️😂 but sure sounds like a crankcase/crank/oil seal (has different names)... but depending on your experience level they can be pretty simple or really involved... f you are talking about the husky 560 that's a clam shell I'm thinking... those can be a pain depending on your mechanical experience but not crazy difficult by any means... we sold the $hit out of those 560 Ranchers where I worked lol
@schnittteisen2 жыл бұрын
@@johnscustomsaws Thank you for your answer. Yeah, without seeing... It is a husky 560. They are very popular saws here in GErmany as well. I had already replaced the bearing and seal, but it is leaking between bearing and crankshaft on the ignition side. I´ll try with a new bearing...

sounds more as if you have an under dimension crank shaft. The only way I can think you got a leak there.

After hearing about pressure/vac testing from several saw builders, I bought one. I’ll never work on another 2 stroke without performing a pressure/vac test.

Smart man... I could talk war stories all day about guys screwing themselves (me included lol)... so many guys burn up a saw and do a top end rebuild just to burn it up again... I need to grab another kit now since mine has seen better days and I am missing the fluid resivoer and the handy attachments anyway so time to hit ebay lol

When it holds pressure and not vacuum, check the Crankseals ! Had a lot of them hardened out and made Problems. Great Video John, you got an Email from me!

Interesting, you said you've never seen one fail vacuum that passed pressure. I have a husqvarna 372 right now that holds pressure but won't even build vacuum. I checked all my plugs and tools. How do you find where the leak is since vacuum doesn't blow bubbles out?
@danielpospisil1192 Жыл бұрын
The ideal testing should be at the working temperature of the engine :) I can only think of the possibility of taking the saw with the pump to the sauna!
@hertugen.online2 жыл бұрын
I used the water bucket for several years, an easy way to check for multiple air leaks. Especially on Husqvarna's 5xx series model, the bucket is brilliant.

John, speaking of case pressures, I have a modified dolmar 7900, Ive retuned it multiple times and even put a new carb on it but when it’s hot and you go to restart it it floods out immediately, do you have any suggestions?
@VintageEngineRepairs Жыл бұрын
That isn’t 8 psi you’re pulling on vacuum, it’s actually 4psi. The mityvac reads inHg on vacuum NOT psi. There are 2 inHg to 1 psi so you need to be pulling 15-20 inHg on vacuum for 7-10 psi.

Do you have a website or how can I buy a custom saw or even buy a shirt or?
@dennisthemenace572 жыл бұрын
It is not 8 or 9 lbs of vacuum, you are reading 8 or 9 INCHES of mercury, a much different thing and scale. The equivalent of 7 lbs of pressure (1/2 a bar) is approx 14. 9 inches on that gauge you have. A perfect (unobtainable) vacuum is 30 inches. I agree with you on the importance of pressure, vac testing
