Very nice!! That engine is beautiful! The 77-78 color scheme was my favorite! The 9.9/15's were some of the best OMC ever made. Nice work!

You must be living right !! Thanks dad for taking care of the engine for us... I'd change the water pump impeller just to be safe, after being stored that long. The impeller's rubber vanes develop a "set" and become brittle and can often break off when the motor is restarted after prolonged storage. Checking to cylinder head with a heat gun is a good thing to do. It shouldn't get over 150-160 degrees. Have fun out on the lake !!

Yessir, changed the impeller shortly after the video and got her mounted as a kicker on my pontoon!

Man I love the smell of two stroke! Wish I had one of those to put on a small john boat!

Agreed, we gotta keep these things alive the next generation to experience!

Check for spark before u spray anything flammable in the cylinders, can easily catch fire because I've seen it happen

Enjoyed that one, what's the knob on the side of the engine for?
@EricGaskamp Жыл бұрын
The knob on the side is fine idle adjustment for trolling since these were used as kicker engines a lot. Most of the knobs have since broken off or are inoperable. I was surprised to still see it on this one.

Quality video, I don’t understand why I am the first comment.
