Johnston County State of Aviation Press Conference

On Monday, January 9, local media and members of the press attended the first Johnston County State of Aviation Press Conference, which was held at the Johnston Regional Airport KJNX.

The press conference focused on statistics published by North Carolina Department of Transportation Aviation Division that highlighted the economic benefits of the state's public airports as well as associated aviation and aerospace assets that support North Carolina's aviation economy. Johnston County Board of Commissioners Chairman Butch Lawter, North Carolina State Representative Larry Strickland, North Carolina State Representative Donna White, NCDOT Aviation Director Bobby Walston and North Carolina Senator-elect Benton Sawrey were among those who spoke at the ceremony.

No mention of Blue line, the FBO, or the low and slow restaurant? As one passing thru those are the things I noticed.

@14:00 there is a very slight mention of both but to not recognize the fact that due to the both mentioned, JNX would still be a 5 flight a day airfield.

@@ProPilotPete apparently there is bad blood between the board and the owner. Not sure the specifics but apparently there are active lawsuits

@@kekoabecker9378 interesting. I’ve met them and was really impressed with the operation, very professionally run, beautiful facility and equipment. Can’t see why they wouldn’t be thrilled to have them as a tenant, but what do I know. I’m just an outsider seeing it from the outside.
