Nothing boring, John...in fact. very interesting to see simple wood turn into intricate yards necessary for the ship to move. Great job as always!

Excellent as always. Not boring to do I'm sure. The building and mounting of the yards just seems to be the most complicated part of the entire build. So many parts and details, with a lot of crafting. I know you love your sails but I'm sure you look foreword to your yards as well.

Thank you Mark! I love placing the yards on the ship and do the rigging, i just hat making the yards, it requires a lot of time and precision that makes you bored for doing it again and again :)

Not boring, for anyone building a model square rigged ship. I have a ship and an airplane model that I want to build, but I have a young cat, and I do love her, but nothing is safe because everything is a toy for her to play with. I do have an outbuilding I can work in, but It is not heated or air conditioned, and no internet, so everything is on hold for now! Also, hello to Wolf.

The making of the yards is crucial and necessary but it is boring... I do not think that model sail ships and cats are a good combination :) I will give Wolf a big hug for you :)

John, Have you ever hit a “Builder’s Slump” wall. Even though you love the hobby, you struggled to get motivated to complete a project? If you have, what did you do to get motivated again? Thanks

Hi Gary, yes i have, many times and every time i take a look at the finished model and i want to finish it to see it like it is in the picture :)

Very interesting John. Not boring at all. How long does it take to finish a ship like that from the very beginning until you call it done?
@JohnsWoodenShips3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ralf! This one will be done this month and to be more precise it will be done in a couple of weeks. So in total 5 months with a lot of work on weekends ,holidays and vacation days :)

Hi John - thank you for recommending the Amati guillotine cutter the other day. It looks nice, but difficult to find in the US, and expensive to ship from Europe. I may go with the Artesania that is found on Amazon. In today's video you cut a 5 mm yard with that guillotine cutter. I did not think those cutters could cut something that thick that easily. Is 5 mm about the limit for cutting with that device?
@JohnsWoodenShips3 жыл бұрын
You can cut up to 6 but you have to be careful not to break the blade. From 7 and more you use a saw just to be sure :)

Nice to see no down votes John, maybe your weird stalkers moved on!

Or maybe they have watched the previous videos and understand that it is foolish to watch something that you do not like :)
